Japan Asia and three companies have red phosphor LED technology, granted patent rights in the United States.

Yesterday (16), Japan's LED plant, Nichia Corp, said that the nitrides, which are common in CITIZEN electronics, MITSUBISHI chemistry, and Japan's national research and Development Corporation of materials and materials (NIMS), have been granted patent rights in the United States recently.

The red phosphor is made up of (Sr, Ca) AlSiN3:Eu and so on. It is commonly called CASN, SCASN or 1113 phosphor. Because of its high brightness and reliability, the red phosphor is widely used in the white LED field.

In 2015, four companies, including CITIZEN electronics, MITSUBISHI chemistry, NIMS and so on, have already reached the cross licensing agreement on the patents related to the red phosphors of the nitride system, and the basic patent covered by the red phosphors has been patented in the United States and shared by the four companies mentioned before. The patent is the LED basic patent for the use of the red phosphor.

On the other hand, in order to safeguard the interests of manufacturers and manufacturers of NIMS, ensure that patents are executed and losses are reduced, the comprehensive licensing scheme of its red phosphor patents has been changed and effective since October 1, 2018. He said it was the authorized party of the new authorization scheme for NIMS, so the product has patent licensing and is free from any changes.

In view of the red phosphor and LED related patents such as the red phosphor, Japan Asia and CITIZEN electronics, MITSUBISHI chemical and NIMS will not tolerate any infringement and will take appropriate measures according to law.
