Revenue over 1 billion 900 million yuan! Seoul semiconductor announces third quarter results

Yesterday (29), Seoul Semiconductor Corporation (Seoul Semiconductor) announced its performance in the third quarter of 2018.

In the third quarter of 2018, the combined income of the company was 320 billion won (about 1 billion 953 million yuan), exceeding the expected target (3000-3200 billion won), operating income of 28 billion won (about 170 million yuan), profit before tax and depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) 55 billion won (about RMB 335 million yuan).

In the third quarter, sales of the television sector increased significantly due to the expansion of the display screen. The demand for WICOP has increased and the cost leadership has been further strengthened. Customers' demand for WICOP and Acrich MJT technology in the high-power lighting area is increasing, and it also improves their profitability.

In the field of automotive lighting, WICOP and nPola have entered the new headlamp application. In the third quarter, the company launched a free Wicop product for automotive headlamps, which has been further promoted. The global car manufacturers plan to use their technology in next year's and 2021 mass production vehicles, and the fourth quarter sales momentum will continue.

Although the fourth quarter is usually off season, the utilization rate of Vietnam's new factories in the third quarter has exceeded 70%, and is expected to further stabilize in the fourth quarter, which will help improve the overall profit and loss.

Seoul semiconductor expects sales in the fourth quarter to be 3000-3200 billion won, which will continue to grow year-on-year.

Min Su Son, vice president of semiconductor marketing in Seoul, said, "after three years of stagnant growth, the company achieved a three consecutive year of sales growth, thanks to the insight of the founders and the team spirit of employees from all over the world, turning the crisis into an opportunity.
