Xuhui Riverside is the core experience area of Shanghai’s urban charm. Shanghai Huiyuanxi is located here, using modern and simple architectural texture to outline a high-end residential paradigm.
The project covers an area of approximately 21,942 square meters, with a construction area of 54,856 square meters, a floor area ratio of 2.5, and a greening rate of 35%. The building consists of 5 high-rise residential buildings with 25 to 26 floors, and 1 low-income housing and supporting facilities. The exterior walls are made of aluminum panels, natural stone, and glass as core materials. Champagne gold metal color with sparkling gray and sesame black marble base. The landscape focuses on creating a central waterscape, gardens between houses, and a main entrance ceremony space. Hard landscapes and green plants blend with each other.
Design concept: symbiosis of light and shadow, low luxury
The lighting design was originally created by the Huajian Group Architectural Decoration Environment Design Research Institute. The core concept is "symbiosis of light and shadow, creating a low-luxury environment". Relying on building materials and structures, through precise optical control and low-carbon technology, we create a night scene that has both aesthetics and practical value.
Design follows four core principles:
Light and shadow are layered and integrated. The installation plan is set up with an invisible and integrated design, and the light distribution is precise to weaken the presence of the lamps.
People come first and comfort is priority. Focusing on the emotional needs of returning home, low glare and warm-toned atmosphere create a warm and relaxing atmosphere for returning home.
Multiple expressions, strengthen characteristics. Through the contrast of light and dark, and the progression of light and shadow, the facade lines and material texture are highlighted.
Green intelligence, low-carbon operation and maintenance. Use high-efficiency, energy-saving light sources and a time-sharing control system to achieve on-demand lighting.
Building facade lighting: strengthen outline, restore material
The lighting design aims to "strengthen outline, restore material, and highlight hierarchy". Linear lamps are arranged in a concealed manner, and indirect lighting highlights the lines. The color temperature is 3000K warm white light, and the diffuse reflection highlights the texture of the aluminum plate. The entrance area expresses texture details through glancing reflections and internal penetration.
The top of the building focuses on strengthening the roof shape and group light and shadow effects. The soft halo reflects the night skyline group image and blends with the night view of Xuhui Riverside City. Strictly control the installation angle of lamps to avoid upward light and stray light and eliminate light interference.
Main entrance area lighting: transition between dignity and warmth
The main entrance is based on high-color warm light, paired with the rhythmic light and shadow of the awning, highlighting the atmosphere and quality. Set up logo luminous characters and ground guidance light strips to clearly guide the path home. Enhance spatial affinity through light and shadow contrast.
Returning to the long corridor, the secluded path is outlined with extremely restrained white space. The carved metal hollow lamps freeze the posture of the white magnolia, and the warm light penetrates the hollow metal projection wall, interweaving the virtual and the real, creating an atmosphere of the East and the West.
Both the community lobby and the building lobby are fully decorated, and the lighting provides even lighting to create a comfortable home atmosphere.
Landscape and garden lighting: the integration of function and aesthetics
The lighting is divided into five major areas: the main body of the building, the home core, the landscape focus, garden life, and supporting services, and customized differentiated plans.
A large number of full-crown transplanted trees are planted within the community, with lush branches and leaves. There are clear layers of shrubs and groundcover. Garden lighting fully considers the natural form of plants, and uses moderate projection lighting to continue the daytime landscape level and avoid excessive lighting. Walking at night, light and shadow outline the path, keeping the park quiet.
Conclusion
Shanghai Huiyuanxi’s nightscape lighting design is based on complete narrative logic and systematic principles, from building floodlighting to entrance space to garden landscape, to achieve "symbiosis of light and shadow, low luxury". The lighting continues the aesthetic value during the day and creates a homecoming light and shadow sequence from the city interface to home at night, giving "home" a perceptible emotional temperature.
