Huike will lay out an electronic paper production base in Guizhou

On April 8, Huike Co., Ltd. officially announced on WeChat that it has officially signed a joint development agreement with electronic paper manufacturer Yuantai Technology. The two parties will focus on joint research and development and large-scale mass production of large-size electronic paper and carry out in-depth cooperation. Huike said that this cooperation aims to promote the large-scale application of e-paper technology in retail signage, industrial Internet of Things, smart cities and other scenarios, and to inject new momentum into the sustainable development of the industry through intelligent and green display solutions.

At present, Huike's e-paper display products cover multiple sizes from 2.13 inches to 31.5 inches, with full-color display technology reserves and mature TFT backplane module manufacturing capabilities. The products have been widely used in many fields such as retail electronic price tags, medical ward information boards, smart manufacturing display modules, logistics and warehousing signboards, etc. At the same time, the company is accelerating the layout of 55-inch and 75-inch electronic paper advertising screens, bus stop signs and other scenarios. In order to further deepen its layout in the field of electronic paper, Huike will also lay out an electronic paper production base in Guizhou, plan to build a dedicated production line for large-sized electronic paper, build a complete industrial chain from R&D to manufacturing, and reduce the cost of large-sized products through large-scale production.

It is worth mentioning that Huike’s investment in the field of electronic paper has long been planned. Its e-paper display module project has officially started in Chuzhou, Anhui Province in October 2024. The total planned investment of the project is up to approximately 8 billion yuan, and the construction period is expected to be 12 months. The main product lines cover small and medium-sized modules, electronic price tags, smart readers, smart office notebooks, student exercise books, e-book bags, smart table cards, and smart door cards.

At the same time, as a leader in electronic paper technology, Yuantai Technology has also shown a positive expansion trend recently. In addition to reaching cooperation with Huike, Yuantai Technology also recently announced the establishment of a new joint venture with AUO subsidiary Daqing. The two parties will jointly build a large-scale e-paper module production line at AUO's Longke plant in Taoyuan, which is expected to be put into production in the fourth quarter of 2025.
