JBD and Stan Technology are making frequent moves, and the industrialization of MicroLED microdisplays is accelerating.

Micro LED is recognized as the ultimate solution for near-eye display devices such as AR/XR due to its high brightness, long life, low power consumption and extremely high pixel density. Entering 2026, as global consumer electronics giants clearly understand their demand for lightweight AR glasses, the Micro LED micro-display industry is accelerating from precision research and development in laboratories to industrial-scale mass production.

Recently, display testing equipment company Jingcei Electronics and Micro LED microdisplay chip giant Xianyao Display announced an in-depth strategic cooperation, while another Micro LED microdisplay company Stan Technology has completed a huge financing of hundreds of millions of yuan.

These industry dynamics not only demonstrate the close coordinated development of the upstream and downstream of the industry chain, but also indicate that the commercialization of Micro LED has entered the sprint stage at full speed.

JBD has reached a strategic cooperation with Jingce Electronics to accelerate the development of Micro LED micro-display

On March 2, Wuhan Jingce Electronics Group Co., Ltd. announced that it officially reached a strategic cooperation agreement with JBD.

The core of this cooperation is to build a complete Micro LED micro-display testing system. Jingce Electronics will provide JBD with image quality assurance from chips to modules to the entire machine through the development of probe station AOI, Gamma calibration and NED AOI testing equipment.

It is worth noting that the cooperation between the two parties no longer stops at the agreement level. Recently, Jingce Electronics’ first batch of equipment for the Micro LED micro-display project in 2026 has been successfully shipped to the JBD production line. This marks that both parties have entered the substantive stage of mass production delivery.

For Micro LED, a miniature display screen composed of millions of micron-level pixels, detection and calibration are key to determining yield and cost. The active yield management solution provided by Jingce Electronics helps JBD further consolidate its position in the global Micro LED micro-display field.

Stan Technology’s cumulative financing exceeds 200 million, and its vehicle and AR business have exploded

Another domestic Micro LED micro-display company recently completed a new round of financing.

On March 1, Stan Technology disclosed that the company had successfully completed the B3 round of financing, with investors including Xiamen Science City Fund of Funds, Industrial Securities Capital, Longhua Capital and many other institutions with government background and industrial resources.

At this point, the cumulative amount of Series B financing of Stan Technology has exceeded 200 million yuan. The funds will be mainly used to accelerate its commercialization process in the fields of vehicle projection, AR display and industrial visual inspection.

It is reported that Stan Technology has achieved significant milestones in productization. In the automotive field, its self-developed CMOS driver chip has been successfully tape-out in the fourth quarter of 2025. Its active matrix drive technology has broken through the limitations of traditional passive routes in display accuracy and has received mass production orders from internationally renowned car companies. In the field of AR, Stan Technology’s single green micro display module has been delivered to major customers.

In order to support the company's commercial transformation, Stan Technology also announced that the company's shareholders have officially appointed senior semiconductor expert Yue Xiaowei as CEO, clearly proposing to sprint towards the goal of being the first in the industry to achieve positive EBITDA.

Summary

From the technical support provided by Jingce Electronics to JBD, to the continued capital recognition of Stan Technology, we can see that the Micro LED micro display industry is maintaining an active development state, and companies are promoting the commercial development of Micro LED micro displays from various aspects.

Especially in the field of AR glasses, Micro LED has irreplaceable advantages, especially its brightness of millions of nits, which has become a key technology for AR glasses to achieve clear visibility under strong light outdoors.

According to TrendForce research data, as AI technology drives demand for smart glasses, it is estimated that global AR glasses shipments will jump to 950,000 units in 2026, with an annual growth rate of as high as 53%.

In terms of display technology penetration, TrendForce pointed out that with the advantages of high brightness and low power consumption, the market penetration rate of LEDoS has reached about 37% in 2025. It is expected that this proportion will further climb to 65% by 2030, becoming the mainstream of AR display.

With the active investment of enterprises, the commercial application of Micro LED micro-display technology will continue to develop rapidly in the future. At the same time, the Micro LED micro-display industry may enter a reshuffle period of survival of the fittest. The company that can take the lead in reaching a balance between small size, high resolution and full color, and achieve positive cash flow, will ultimately define the market structure of the next generation near-eye display.
