Based on the research and development results of this technology, the alliance has officially released two core standards: Jingcai Cinema Technology Part 2-1: LED Cinema Jingcai Image Release Master Technical Specifications and Jingcai Cinema Technology Part 3-1: Jingcai Sound Cinema-End Audio Processor Technical Requirements and Measurement Methods. The two standards have completed technical reviews and widely solicited industry opinions, and are now entering the formal implementation stage.
With its advantages of high brightness, high contrast, high dynamic range and picture uniformity, LED movie screens have significantly improved image expression and brought a more immersive viewing experience to the audience. They are gradually becoming the core display carrier for high-format movies in theaters. As of September 2025, approximately 180 LED movie screens have been deployed across the country, with the average annual growth rate in box office and quantity exceeding 55%. This rapid growth trend indicates that the film industry will usher in a new round of technological innovation, and also lays a solid foundation for the promotion and application of Jingcai Cinema technology.solid foundation.
The specifications for Part 2-1 of the Jingcai Cinema Technology released this time were jointly formulated by the China Film Science and Technology Institute, China Film Distribution Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and other units. It clarifies the technical parameters of the LED Cinema Jingcai Image Distribution Master in terms of production environment, system configuration, image characteristics, and data packet peak bit rate. It focuses on optimizing key indicators such as brightness, dynamic range, frame rate, and bit rate to ensure high-quality output at the content production end.
When films produced in accordance with this standard are screened in LED cinemas, they show significantly better visual effects than conventional versions, with clearer picture details, richer layers, and stronger visual impact. At present, many Vivid version films such as "The Starry Sky of the Three Kingdoms", the first Assassination Novelist 2 "Lang Lang Life", "Feng Lin Huo", have been released in eligible theaters, providing audiences with higher quality movie viewing options.
