LED lighting industry follows the trend and develops in four major directions

In the past two years, LED lighting fixtures have developed rapidly in the commercial and industrial fields. However, with the advancement of technology, LED lighting fixtures have begun to enter the home lighting field and have achieved good results.
At present, there are two main factors that hinder LED lighting products from entering the civilian market:
On the one hand, society's awareness of LED technology and products is still in its infancy. Survey results from relevant experts show that only 25% of ordinary Chinese consumers are aware of LED light bulbs. To popularize LED lighting, it is still key to increase consumer awareness.
On the other hand, because LED lighting fixtures are more expensive than traditional lighting products, most home users see short-term cost benefits and do not prioritize long-term energy-saving benefits. Therefore, the penetration rate of LED lighting fixtures has always been unsatisfactory.
To increase the penetration rate of LED lighting fixtures, we must start from these two aspects. While popularizing LED knowledge, we must gradually reduce the price of LED lighting fixtures by using technology to promote productivity, and then promote popularization and application worldwide.
For the LED lighting industry, what are the "advantages" and "disadvantages" of this era? What response tactics should be adopted by each link of the industrial chain at the current stage to adapt to the current situation and achieve great success?
With the arrival of LED, our market has undergone certain changes. First of all, the industrial chain is different, which has the greatest impact on light source companies: technical advantages are lost, and more importantly, the light source replacement business will disappear in the foreseeable future; product development needs to be re-understood, product cycles are shortened, and traditional lighting needs time to adjust. Therefore, the originally relatively stable lighting market has created some opportunities for new companies. However, the lighting market has lost so many external favorable factors in the past two decades. In addition, the number of companies participating in the competition has increased significantly, and the lighting market capacity is limited. In general, the market will be very cruel, both for traditional brands and emerging brands.
The LED industry may develop in the following directions in the next few years.
1. International LED lighting giants seize the market
International LED lighting giants Philips and Toshiba have led the industry in successfully developing 800 lumen LED bulbs, and are actively developing LED bulbs above 1,000 lumens. 800-lumen LED bulbs, 1,000-lumen packages per dollar, high-voltage LEDs, and warm white LEDs that add red light are the general trend and will become the focus of technology for LED chip manufacturers.
2. Close cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises
Cooperation between enterprises, especially cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises, will become another trend in the LED industry. Epistar Optoelectronics is a listed company in Taiwan specializing in the production of ultra-high brightness LED epitaxial wafers and dice. It has its own metal organic vapor deposition (MOCVD) technology. It is currently the world's major manufacturer of LED epitaxial chips and has complete intellectual property rights for LED chip products.
3. LED indoor lighting receives policy support
Judging from the availability of LED production capacity technology, my country has proposed preferential measures such as lowering tax rates, accelerating equipment depreciation, and free land. This plan is equivalent to encouraging existing domestic LED manufacturers to expand production capacity, which will also lead to the emergence of many new competitors. LED manufacturers from Taiwan and South Korea are also actively entering the Chinese mainland market, becoming a factor driving the increase in production capacity.
4. The decisive victory in market segments lies in the terminal
Compared with traditional lighting products, in a certain period of time in the future, the development pattern of the LED industry will remain stable, and channels will still be king. This is an inevitable trend in the development of the entire lighting industry. When an industry develops to a certain stage, reshuffle is an improvement. The same is true for an enterprise. Once an enterprise develops to a certain scale, it will encounter various bottlenecks as it moves up.
