The automotive LED market has reached new heights, and Ruifeng Optoelectronics has made a strong breakthrough with its hard-core products.

As automobile styling design gradually enters the stage of homogenization, car lights are no longer simply basic lighting components, but have become a key carrier to enhance brand recognition and achieve differentiation. Against this industry background, the 2026 Shanghai ALE Auto Lighting Show was crowded with people and the atmosphere of communication was lively. The mass production of high-pixel ADB headlights is accelerating, and car lighting technology is moving towards high-power and intelligent upgrades

At this exhibition, Ruifeng Optoelectronics brought cutting-edge products such as 100-level pixel ADB headlight source modules, DLP LED solutions, interactive screen LEDs, and innovative technical solutions such as ADS blue-green LEDs, committed to creating a smarter and safer travel ecology.

The 84-pixel ADB headlights on display this time combine Refond’s high- and low-beam headlights and Mini LED technology. The technical solution is superior to that of international counterparts, and the cost is only about 1/3 of the original. Not only does it have outstanding brightness, the pixel brightness is close to the level of high- and low-beam headlights, but it can also intelligently shield dazzling areas when meeting cars, significantly improving driving safety, and solving the pain points of using traditional high-beam headlights.

According to reports, Ruifeng Optoelectronics' ADB headlight products have successfully won large orders from major domestic manufacturers and are expected to be officially mass-produced next month. It is expected to attract more OEMs to follow up and cooperate in the future.

In addition, Ruifeng Optoelectronics has launched a DLP LED solution, which is based on ceramic substrates and has the advantages of high heat dissipation and high power density. It can achieve high-brightness output in a small space and meet the needs of miniaturization and thinning of projection modules.

At the same time, the upgraded ADS Cyan blue-green LED supports various solutions such as chip direct emission and phosphor, single color and dual color. The main wavelength covers 490–497.5nm and has strong penetration performance, which can meet various types of smart driving indication scenarios and improve driving safety.

In the field of exterior headlights, Ruifeng Optoelectronics focused on demonstrating its second-generation automotive-grade ceramic high-power headlight technology and diamond-based ultra-high power density packaging products, providing high-efficiency, high-reliability high-quality light source solutions for automotive exterior lighting.

In terms of technology upgrades, Long Sheng said that high power and miniaturization are the core trends in future lamp design. Diamond technology can achieve a single power of 60 watts, which can achieve higher output power and stronger axis light intensity in the same area, which greatly facilitates lamp design.

Currently, Ruifeng Optoelectronic Diamond-related technologies are in the development stage of sending samples to customers. The next step will focus on cost optimization, continue to promote process optimization and large-scale cost reduction, and at the same time strengthen in-depth cooperation with downstream customers to jointly define product specifications and application scenarios, and promote the transformation of technological achievements into practical applications through joint development.

Long Sheng admitted that the auto lighting industry has indeed faced many challenges in the early stages of development in the past two years. However, as the market gradually matures and Ruifeng Optoelectronics continues to deepen its efforts in the automotive field, the company's overall competitiveness has significantly improved.

On the one hand, relying on in-depth cooperation with domestic and foreign leading OEMs and Tier1, as well as the batch application cases accumulated over the years, Ruifeng Optoelectronics has established a good reputation in core technology fields such as Mini LED, and has gradually formed a brand image of "Ruifeng takes the lead in mass production of new technologies"; on the other hand, with the introduction and application of products in many mainstream models, the actual use effects have been fully verified, and customers' trust in product quality and stability continues to increase.

At the same time, the world's first fully automated automobile production base deployed by Ruifeng Optoelectronics in Hubei has further strengthened the competitive advantage and cost control level of manufacturing. After on-site inspections by customers, the overall recognition continues to increase.

It is also worth noting that competition in the industry is becoming increasingly fierce. OEMs are facing dual pressures of innovation and cost. The pace of projects has accelerated significantly. Some development cycles have been shortened from the past 2-3 years to less than one year. The development of automotive lighting projects also needs to go through three rounds of iterations: "new technology introduction - cost optimization - performance and cost balance". Against this background, the industry's requirements for supply chain companies continue to increase. They not only need to have the ability to continuously output new technologies to help customers achieve product upgrades and differentiated competition, but also need to have the ability to replace international manufacturers in key application areas while highlighting cost advantages.

Mini LED expands the boundaries of in-vehicle display, and customized needs drive multi-scenario application upgrades

In terms of in-vehicle display, Ruifeng Optoelectronics exhibited 12.3-inch COB white light and 15.6-inch backlight solutions, which have the advantages of high light efficiency, thin and light customization, and high reliability, helping smart cockpits achieve immersive interaction and lightweight design.

Based on Mini LED direct display technology, Ruifeng Optoelectronics also brings pixel car taillights, pixel car logos and other applications to support personalized display and human-vehicle interaction. Among them, Hongqi's ultra-thin logo car logo, which debuted for the first time, adopts a single red light design, which emits uniform light and controllable brightness. It is thin, light, low-power consumption and flexible in shape, which helps to enhance brand recognition.

Long Sheng introduced that Ruifeng Optoelectronics has accumulated rich experience in electronics, optics, and thermal science, which has also become the core competitiveness of its Mini LED products. Among them, the Mini LED Logo lamp has successfully solved the long-standing problems of heat dissipation and power consumption in the industry by virtue of its extremely high brightness and extremely low heat generation (no heat when touched).

In terms of cost optimization, Ruifeng Optoelectronics mainly achieves breakthroughs through customized development and technology integration, such as combining the Touch layer with Mini screens to optimize product structure and reduce costs. At present, Ruifeng Optoelectronics' related products have partially adopted the Mini LED technology path, and it is continuing to promote the research and development of a number of new technologies. Most of these projects are carried out in the form of joint development with customers.

From the perspective of product attributes, areas such as taillights are still dominated by standardized products, but in more emerging application scenarios, the demand for customization is significantly increasing. The automotive color-changing film debuts, opening a new track for low power consumption and differentiation

The automotive color-changing film debuted at this exhibition is one of the important layouts of Ruifeng Optoelectronics to cope with industry competition and tap new growth. The color-changing film car cover (covering the interior and exterior decoration) and the integrated color-changing wheels on display present a more dynamic and interactive display effect through color changes and pattern design; at the same time, it achieves green display with low power consumption, which is in line with the trend of low-carbon travel.

Long Sheng said that the current competition in the car lighting market is fierce and the industry is in urgent need of new breakthroughs. The automotive color-changing film is an innovative product launched based on this demand. This product can be used in waistline scenes inside and outside the car. Its core advantages are low power consumption and static display. It relies on reflected light to achieve effect presentation. Its technical principle is based on electrophoresis technology (similar to the principle of Kindle readers). It uses a small voltage to drive the movement of color particles to achieve static display. It does not emit light and has low power consumption. It needs to be used with a front light at night.

At present, this technology has been mass-produced. Its first-generation products are used in Kindle readers and electronic price tags. This time it is applied in the automotive field. BMW takes the lead in leading the market and launches the first color-changing concept car. Ruifeng Optoelectronics can provide relevant technical support to the OEM.

The reason why Ruifeng Optoelectronics can deploy in the automotive color-changing film field is that on the one hand, it benefits from the company's more than 20 years of technological accumulation in the optical field, and the application of electronic paper just requires front-light technology, and the two form a perfect fit; on the other hand, Ruifeng Optoelectronics has obtained exclusive authorization from upstream manufacturers in the automotive industry, and the industry entry threshold is relatively high.

In terms of product implementation, currently individual materials are mainly limited by the temperature range (-15°C to 65°C). Ruifeng Optoelectronics is using high-performance heat-resistant and cold-resistant film materials for packaging protection to improve product durability. At this stage, color-changing films are mainly used in cars, while exterior decoration will first enter the after-sales modification (DIY) market and gradually promote commercialization.

It is worth mentioning that "low carbon" has a high priority in Ruifeng Optoelectronics' touch display product planning, and color-changing film technology has become a typical representative of the company's implementation of low-carbon and low-energy technology routes due to its extremely low-power static display characteristics.

Strategic transformation deepens, domestic substitution and cutting-edge technology layout are promoted in two lines

While making breakthroughs in innovative businesses such as car lights, vehicle displays and color-changing films, Ruifeng Optoelectronics is also continuing to deepen its strategic layout. Currently, the domestic LED packaging and display industry is accelerating its transformation from single component supply to system solutions. Providing integrated and customized services to customers through industrial chain collaboration and technical barrier construction has become the core path for enterprises to build differentiated advantages.

Against the background of this industry transformation, Long Sheng said that the company has established a high technical threshold by obtaining original technology authorization and collaborative cooperation with upstream companies. It is different from the traditional supplier model that only provides light sources. It is deeply involved in the joint development from optical design to e-paper touch lamination, greatly improving response efficiency and better meeting the personalized needs of customers.

In terms of domestic substitution, Long Sheng said that in emerging fields such as Mini LED, domestic companies have sufficient patent reserves and are even in a leading position in some applications. At this stage, domestic LEDs can "equal" with international manufacturers in terms of brightness and quality. Ruifeng Optoelectronics hopes to break the monopoly of international manufacturers through technological leadership and stable quality performance, and promote the common benefit of the entire industry.

The core opportunities for market growth currently focus on two types of scenarios:

First, in the introduction stage of new projects, suppliers with technical and cost advantages will be given priority to enter the customer system. Ruifeng Optoelectronics, relying on its own strength, has the opportunity to intervene in cooperation at the early stage of product definition; second, the cost optimization needs of existing projects. On the basis of large-scale procurement, cost reduction and efficiency increase through cost-effective alternatives have become an important entry point for Ruifeng Optoelectronics to expand the market. Thanks to the push from demand, Ruifeng Optoelectronics' automotive business segment has maintained a rapid annual compound growth trend in recent years.
