Apple acquires energy-saving LED company to prepare for iWatch?

According to foreign news, Apple recently acquired a startup company called LuxVue Technology, and this acquisition may improve the energy saving and screen brightness of Apple's future products.

It is reported that LuxVue is a company researching micro-LED screen technology. Earlier, the company received $43 million in investment from venture capital firms including Kleiner Perkins and iD Ventures America.
"Apple will acquire some small technology companies from time to time, and we will not discuss our purposes or plans." Such a statement is very close to confirmation of the news.
In the past few years, LuxVue has maintained a fairly low-key style. The company mainly develops low-power displays based on micro-LEDs for consumer electronic devices. It is said that Apple acquired this company to increase its strength in the field of hardware innovation.
Because this company’s expertise is in making micro-LED displays, this may mean that their technology will be integrated into Apple’s new hardware to improve the device’s battery life and screen brightness. It is reported that this company has applied for several patents on micro-LED technology. At last year's TechCrunch Disrupt SF conference, KPCB partner John Doerr briefly talked about LuxVue's technology, calling it a "technological breakthrough in the display field."
