The England highway is equipped with intelligent LED spike to help drivers keep in the right lane.

According to foreign media reports, Highways England has installed 175 airport runway LED spike (road stud) to help draw a driveway in one of the busiest Expressway intersections in England, and there are more than 90000 cars passing through the intersection every day. "England" In addition, the intelligent LED spike will be opened when traffic lights turn green, helping drivers keep in the right lane. This is the first time to introduce intelligent traffic lights at the intersection of main highways.

The innovative LED spike can be seen at a distance of 900 meters. It can be seen farther than the distance of the traditional reflective spike, and has proved to be able to help prevent the driver from drifting between the driveways, thereby reducing the risk of collision. The cable under the road connects to the traffic light through the nearby controller unit. When the traffic lights turn green, the LED spike will automatically open.

As part of the Switch Island program, the new traffic lights will be installed at locations above 5 meters (vehicles above the loading capacity and double decker buses) so that drivers close to the intersection can clearly see when the intelligent LED spike will change. In addition, road layout, lane markings and lane obstacles have been changed. 4 new overhead platforms will be installed on each lane so that drivers know which lanes they should stay in.

Andy Salotti, the intelligent spike designer, said: "this is the first time to dynamically divide the project at the junction of the main highway of England strategic highway network. The LED spike, which is synchronized with the green traffic lights, will provide the driver with clear lane guidance. The solution will reduce the probability of the driver deviating from the lane, thereby reducing the number of accidents at the critical intersection, congestion, and the frustration of drivers caused by road traffic collisions.
