Tencent digital news, the emerging smart bulbs Market is becoming increasingly fierce, and a large number of new products are pouring into the market. Recently, Holland lighting giant PHILPS announced the launch of Hue Go, a portable version of its logo Hue LED lamp. LIFX, an Australian intelligent lighting startup, is also unwilling to lag behind and has launched its own new product.
As early as 2012, LIFX launched its pioneering product, the LED lamp that supports Wi-Fi and is discolourable. Now, it has finally launched a product that can only produce white light. The product, LIFX White 800, is priced at US $40 (about 245 yuan) and is the cheapest in the company's products. The product's support for Wi-Fi means that it can work without central control.
Prior to this, PHILPS has just announced that the price of its Hue Lux will be lowered to $20 (about 123 yuan). Lux can only send white light to support ZigBee connection, but it must work through Hue Bridge central control. At present, two light bulbs plus a central control suit are priced at US $80 (about 490 yuan).
Hue Lux is obviously cheaper, and a lot of savings are saved. But is Hue Lux the best choice? Not necessarily!
As far as specifications are concerned, White 800 has some slight advantages: 890 lumens (equivalent to 60W incandescent lamps), and its brightness is more than 140 lumens than that of Lux. In addition, the company claims that White 800 has the function of "selecting between the warm light source and the cold light source", and is the first bulb to support this function in the entry-level product. The product specification list indicates that the color temperature of the bulb is between 2700 and 6500K.
White 800 is especially attractive for those who want to try home automation but feel that most home appliances are extraordinarily expensive.
Moreover, because of the position of light bulbs in people's daily life, it is a good start for most people to make it the first device of smart home.
