Recently, relevant media reported that Credo, a high-speed connection solution provider, is promoting its Micro LED optical interconnection technology to customers. Its official website has simultaneously launched the ZeroFlap Micro LED interconnection technology page, demonstrating in detail this innovative solution to break the computing power transmission bottleneck.

This solution is extremely competitive on a number of core indicators. In terms of reliability, its built-in link monitoring and logging functions can achieve seamless failover of optical channels; in terms of energy consumption, Micro LED has zero consumption in the off state, and combined with wide parallel channels and NRZ modulation, the energy efficiency far exceeds traditional solutions; in terms of bandwidth density, by increasing the transmission rate and dense two-dimensional array layout, it meets the high-density co-packaged optical expansion needs of AI clusters.
In terms of deployment, the active LED optical cable launched by Credo has a transmission distance of up to 30 meters, and the cable thickness is reduced by 75% compared with traditional solutions. While maintaining high reliability, it solves the high cost and high power consumption pain points of traditional pluggable optical cables. In the short-distance interconnection of about 1 meter between GPU or memory, the physical size of the ZeroFlap Micro LED solution is extremely compressed, and the density is 10 times that of traditional amplified interconnection.

It is reported that in the third quarter of 2025, Credo successfully acquired Hyperlume, a Micro LED optical interconnect technology provider, and acquired its core technology as a key move to expand its optical interconnect product line.
With its core advantages such as low power consumption, Micro LED is becoming one of the future key technologies for short-distance high-speed transmission in data centers. Credo regards this technology as another core growth engine after active cables. It hopes to seize a huge market share in the future through continuous innovation and provide more efficient and reliable interconnection technology for AI computing power networks.
