Cree greatly improves the brightness of the LED lighting market

Recently, LED specialist CREE international channels manager Peter Walker said the company's XLamp XR-E series of products in the light degree has been greatly improved, the brightness has reached 80-100lm, while a year ago the brightness is only 50lm. Walker pointed out that in order to XR-E cool white products, for example, in June the brightness of the product has reached 122lm, while in October 2006 was only 80lm. The luminous efficiency of LED is increasing and its price is declining. Cree believes that future production costs will no longer be an obstacle to the use of LED in the lighting market. The company expects that by 2008 the cost per 100lm brightness will fall to $1.

Cree said, LED outdoor lighting has entered a revolutionary era, the increase in brightness efficiency will accelerate its application in the market. In the short term, LED products will not be replaced by indoor lighting, LED products will be targeting and special lighting field.
