Epistar and Everlight form a win-win situation, Ye Yinfu boldly promises to become the world’s No. 1 within two years

When Yiguang Chairman Ye Yinfu attended the press conference for the release of "Ode to Metta" today (25th), he said that he was very happy to see the merger of Epistar and Canyuan. This move will make Taiwan's LED upstream stronger and can push Taiwan's LED rankings higher in the world. At the same time, it was emphasized that Taiwan's LED industry will continue to move forward through consolidation and integration. It is expected that the total output value of Epistar and Everlight will strive to be the first in the world in the next two years.
As early as March this year, Ye Yinfu stated that the strength of Everlight and Epistar should have the opportunity to overtake Nichia and compete for the world's largest total output value. He said that the revenue of Everlight plus Epistar in 2013 was approximately NT$46.939 billion (approximately RMB 9.702 billion), ranking second in the world. Epistar has R&D and innovation capabilities. The next goal is to challenge Nichia and win the top spot in terms of output value. However, at that time, Ye Yinfu did not say enough and believed that Nichia would also grow at the same time, so there was no timetable.
Recently, the second quarter revenue data of Taiwanese LED companies have been released one after another. Data show that Epistar’s total revenue in the second quarter was NT$8.126 billion (approximately RMB 1.681 billion), a 30.2% increase from the previous quarter, setting a new single-quarter revenue high; Everlight’s total revenue in the second quarter was NT$7.689 billion (approximately RMB 1.591 billion), also setting a record high in a single quarter. Both Epistar and Everlight performed well, achieving year-on-year growth of more than 30%.
The revenue of Epistar and Everlight has repeatedly hit new highs. In addition, after the merger of Epistar and Canyuan, the production capacity and technology of the two complement each other, forming a win-win situation. This may give Ye Yinfu more confidence in competing for the world's number one, which he boasts will only take two years.
In addition, when looking forward to operations in the second half of the year, Ye Yinfu said that there will be a significant expansion of production this year, and the expansion time is expected to extend from June to September. The LED industry is experiencing a comprehensive recovery, including LED lighting, backlight, invisible light and other related products, all of which are performing well. Everlight has completed its production expansion in the second quarter and is expected to increase its production capacity by 25%, with monthly production reaching 4 billion units in the third quarter.
