Several European manufacturers continue to develop flexible OLED technology in the development of lighting and display screen recently established OLED industry alliance, the development of more OLED product lines, accelerate the commercialization of this new technology.
This is called the "PI-SCALE" project aims to build a trans European production line, the size of the company can make all test methods quickly and effectively and improve the flexible OLED lighting concept and successful commercialization of this technology.

The plan by the European Commission (European Commission) through optical public-private partnerships (Photonics Public Private Partnership) to support the sponsorship, amounting to $15 million 210 thousand ($98 million 944 thousand).
The flexible OLED with solid part features fusion or close fitting surface, if successful commercialization of this technology will be able to open a new design boundaries, and expand the scope of application by creating new value for lighting products, a new range of applications include construction, automotive, aerospace and consumer electronic products. This technology allows thin, less than 0.2 mm, flexible, lightweight and energy-saving lighting product nearly transparent solution can be made into various shapes and sizes.
PI-SCALE will provide trial production of rich resources and services to focus on automotive, designer lamps and aerospace OLED applications.
By the Holst centre, the European OLED technology alliance convened 14 experts OLED partners from 5 European countries, including Audi, CPI VTT, Fraunhofer M-Solv, FlexEnable DuPont, Teijin Films, Brabant Development Agency (BOM), REHAU, Emdedesign, Pilkington, Coatema Coating and Machinery AMIRES. PI-SCLAE will provide these companies with the ability to test and develop industrial applications to achieve product performance, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency and specific applications.
For European OLED manufacturers, this will be a good opportunity to deepen professional and technical expertise, but also allow OLED related products can make market visibility faster.
