Exclusive interview with OZONE and TDMC - Lifestyle Design and Interior Information Center

Residential Design Center OZONE is a lifestyle and interior information center located in Shinjuku Park Tower, Japan, with 5 floors (3F-7F) and a total area of 11,000 square meters. The OZONE center includes unique showrooms and shops covering furniture and daily necessities, residential equipment and accessories, and building materials; the library houses a collection of home design catalogs.

OZONE is planning to celebrate its 30th anniversary. TrendForce had the opportunity to interview OZONE Vice President Sinji Mori to learn about the various services provided by OZONE and Taipei Design and Construction Materials Center (TDMC).

Sen pointed out that OZONE combines the letters O and Zone, which means the beginning of the information zone. OZONE owns 30 companies, including furniture/storage, bedding, residential equipment, metal parts, and more. In 2022, the number of visitors to OZONE will increase from 230,000 in 2021 to 280,000. Today, 70% of visitors are ordinary consumers and 30% are creative home professionals such as architecture and interior design.

Lighting in OZONE

OZONE showcased lighting products at the "blue2@Tokushima" booth on the 7th floor of OZONE. It is worth noting that Nichia’s LED products such as human factors lighting, museum lighting, horticulture lighting, UV-C LED disinfection and purification, etc. are installed in its customers’ lighting products.

Taipei Design Material Center (TDMC) Taipei Design and Building Materials Center

Taipei Design and Building Materials Center (TDMC) is a business center in Taiwan that provides consulting services to companies such as OZONE. TDMC is located at No. 185, Xinhu 1st Road, Neihu District, Taipei City. It is the first and currently the only building materials center in Taiwan focusing on the interior design and construction industry. 60% of its members are professional builders and designers. TDMC provides interior decoration and building materials for high-end brands, while also providing a platform for communication among enterprises, government and academia. In addition, TDMC also has the functions of an industry-university education conference hall, product launch and exhibition space.
