Foshan Chengfa Center Lighting Design

The project is located on the north side of Jihua Road and the east side of Wenhua Road, Chancheng District, Foshan City, adjacent to Wenhua Park; facing the TV Tower to the southwest, and echoing the stadium to the northwest. The geographical location is superior, and the night view lighting is particularly important.

The planned net land area of the project is 6484.28m², which is a commercial office building. The total construction area is 67,700 m², of which the total above-ground construction area is 53,900 m². The project has three floors underground and 38 floors above ground, with a total building height of 198 meters, becoming a new landmark of Chancheng.

The building facade is composed of eight staggered cutting surfaces, which is clean and concise, but also has a strong sense of upward extension and modernity. Through the analysis of the surrounding environment and architecture, we divided the building facade into A and B sides, and reflected the morphological beauty of the building through the coordination of differences and unified lighting patterns.

The design uses light as a pen, and uses light and shade, transition, intensity, interlacing, contrast, gradient and other modes to deconstruct the building's cut facades and echo the linkage and collision relationship between the A and B facades. Nightscape lighting not only satisfies visual expression, but also focuses on the cross-sectional structure of the building, integrating the light into the building itself and taking advantage of the situation, making the lighting a supporting role in the building.

Lighting is by no means an additional decoration, but a natural extension of the architectural form at night. This project uses light and shadow to interpret the architectural texture, giving the building a second layer of light and shadow skin, breaking the visual boundaries of the building during the day, and creating a nighttime form with rich layers and full of tension. The contrast of light and shadow between the upper and lower zones strengthens the vertical scale of the super high-rise building and solidifies the image of a landmark in the city's night sky.

Light follows the architectural texture and changes according to the surface of the curtain wall. Be restrained and restrained, blend naturally, and achieve no superfluous embellishments, no obtrusive visuals, and no overpowering the guest. Relying on light and shade, transition, intensity, interlacing, gradient and other modes, the light and the facade are integrated and become an organic part of the building. Light is used to shape the building, giving the building a unique nighttime language.

Under night, light and dark, strong and weak, connect the internal relationship of the building facade, clearly outline the outline of the building, strengthen the overall volume, condense the spatial temperament, and realize the natural dialogue between the building and the city. Light makes the building clearly identifiable, visible, perceptible, and memorable in the night, becoming the building’s exclusive nighttime business card and emotional expression.

Wall-washing lamps are used to carve out the angular contours of the building, linear lamps are used to stretch the depth of the space, and soft light and shadow transitions are used to organize the rhythm of the facade, highlighting the beauty of architectural lines, sections, layers and volumes. The design does not deliberately reshape the shape, but uses light and shadow to awaken the original aesthetics of the building, deepening the recognition and visual memory of the building itself.

Appropriate light and shadow strengthen the characteristics of the architectural form; restrained light and shade weaken the secondary visual perception; soft gradient gives the building rhythm and breathing. The comprehensive use of light makes the building's shape more three-dimensional and its visual aura more prominent at night, fully interpreting the high-end temperament of the landmark building.

The large line outline and the podium floodlights have become complementary light elements. The relationship between the facades is clearer and the contrast is more complete. Combined with the warm texture of the translucent lights in the podium, internal and external light and shadow are intertwined and blended. Light is used to shape and shadows are used to rhyme, achieving a deep symbiosis between light and architecture, and injecting the soul of night into the building.

The floodlights use precise light distribution and light control technology to control the light on the sides of the decorative strips. Each beam of light serves the expression of the architectural form and accurately awakens the layers and three-dimensional texture of the cut facade at night. Light turns into the "invisible skeleton" of the building, interpreting professional concepts with careful lighting design, allowing light and shadow to truly fit the building and express it.

Viewed from a high altitude, light and shadow strengthen the integrity of the architectural form and optimize the integration relationship between the building and the urban interface, making the building a well-ordered, three-dimensional and unique urban node in the night. Lighting and building facades are deeply symbiotic, reconstructing the visual expression of the building at night, making the form more recognizable and present due to light.

Lighting allows the building to form a strong visual focus in the city skyline and become a recognizable, memorable and resonant coordinate at night. Lighting not only reshapes the night image of the building, but also uses light as a medium to convey the urban temperament, enhance the overall image of the region, condense the spiritual core of the site, empower the landmark value with light and shadow, and build a benchmark for urban night views.

The indoor lighting is based on the magnolia flower, the city flower of Foshan, as the design motif. The lines of light are used to replicate the stretched posture of the petals, and the soft rhythm is used to outline the aesthetic skeleton of the space. The lighting follows the direction of the interior architectural interface and blends seamlessly with the ceiling, walls, and structure. It does not disrupt the order of the space, but also enhances the overall texture with delicate layers. On the premise of meeting the basic illumination of the lobby, use light to create a sense of ritual and transparency, allowing functions and artistic conception to coexist, and making the space warm and solemn under the wrap of light.

We did not use direct lighting fixtures in the entire space. Through indirect reflection and lines, we transformed the elegant curves of the magnolia flower into the language of lighting. We used linear light sources to outline the outline of the space, and used soft transitions to simulate the layers of petals. The lights extend along the indoor structure to form a continuous, smooth and rhythmic visual movement line, which not only strengthens the spatial form, but also conveys the regional cultural temperament. Light is not only lighting, but also the aesthetic narrative line of indoor space, making every corner and interface more expressive due to light.

Indoor lighting strictly follows the principle of function priority and accurately meets the illumination needs of all scenes such as lobby passage, reception, and rest. While ensuring visual clarity and spatial security, the space is kept simple and elegant, making brightness, comfort, and practicality the background of the indoor light environment.

Lighting gives the indoor space rich layers and temperature, effectively upgrading the spatial experience and spiritual atmosphere, allowing the lobby to break through its single functional attribute and transform into an urban living room with both artistic aesthetics and high-end rituals. The flowing light and shadow gives the indoor space lasting vitality of day and night symbiosis.

In late-night mode, the building lights and the night view lights of the TV tower echo each other and coexist in layers, achieving a visual balance and light and shadow dialogue in the city skyline. The night scene lighting is restrained, high-end, and gentle, promoting the integration of architecture and the city, the symbiosis of humanity and the night scene, and writing a harmonious and elegant chapter of urban night light and shadow.
