With the rapid development of residential lighting, office space, and smart buildings, light is no longer just a basic lighting carrier, but is also deeply related to human visual health, neural rhythm regulation, and brain cognitive abilities. How to adapt light to the human body's physiological mechanism and empower concentration and physical and mental health has become a core topic in the lighting industry and human factors engineering fields.
Recently, the research group of Professor Lin Yandan of Fudan University and Suzhou Zhongyifeng Optoelectronics conducted in-depth industry-university-research cooperation and exchanges. They launched joint research around the intelligent light parameter adjustment algorithm for visual and cognitive functions based on human factors experiments. Based on the intersection of human factors, optics, and electronics, they unlocked a new development paradigm of human factors optical applications + light health, and laid a solid theoretical and technical foundation for the implementation of smart lighting, healthy living, smart office and other scenarios.
1. With the support of top scientific research teams, we deeply cultivate the ecology of human factors optics
The leader of this cooperation is the research group of Professor Lin Yandan of Fudan University. Relying on top scientific research platforms such as the Fudan University Intelligent Robot and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Institute, the Human Phenotype Research Institute, and the Key Laboratory of Modern Anthropology of the Ministry of Education, and backed by authoritative industry platforms such as the Shanghai Intelligent System Human Factors Engineering Professional Technical Service Platform and the China Creation Society Human Factors Engineering and Industrial Innovation Committee, it has long been deeply involved in cutting-edge directions such as human factors lighting, color science, photobiological effects, and cognitive neurohuman factors engineering.
2. Directly attack the pain points of the industry and reconstruct the underlying logic of intelligent light adjustment
Most of the current lighting products on the market only meet basic visual comfort, are limited to fixed scene parameter adaptation, and ignore the deep impact of light on the human body's non-visual rhythm and continuous cognitive ability; at the same time, industry theoretical research is lacking on the correlation mechanism between light and cognitive nerves, and the algorithms are mostly constructed in a single mode, lacking support from human physiological data.
This joint research between Fudan University and Zhongyifeng Optoelectronics breaks away from traditional single-dimensional thinking in lighting. Research has proven that a suitable spectral light environment can effectively delay the decline of human alertness, reduce cognitive load, and improve sustained attention and executive functions.

3. Integration of industry, academia and research, empowering full-scenario applications of light health
Suzhou Zhongyifeng Optoelectronics is deeply involved in the field of optoelectronic lighting, and has the hard core capabilities of scene lighting product development, project implementation, and industrial transformation; Fudan University outputs top basic theories, human factors experimental data and intelligent algorithm models, and the two parties have jointly achieved a seamless connection between scientific research results → technology research and development → product implementation.
The results of future cooperation will be widely implemented in many fields:
1. Smart office lighting: dynamically adjust light parameters to adapt to the concentration needs of the office crowd, alleviating visual fatigue and cognitive burnout in the workplace;
2. Campus healthy lighting: optimizing the spectral environment of the classroom, protecting the eyesight of teenagers, and improving classroom learning memory and concentration;
3. Residential home lighting: adapting to the human body's circadian rhythm, intelligent dimming adapts to multiple modes of resting, reading, and working at home;
4. Professional special lighting: Supports light environment customization for high cognitive load scenarios such as aerospace, national defense, and precision operations.
At the same time, the two parties will jointly apply for invention patents, publish high-level academic papers at home and abroad, develop exclusive intelligent light parameter adjustment algorithms and dimming systems, and use scientific research and innovation to drive the transformation and upgrading of the optoelectronics industry toward human factors, health, and intelligence.
Scientific research empowers the industry and defines the future of light and health
Light is a core element of the human living environment and an invisible carrier that protects the physiological and cognitive health of the human body. The cross-border cooperation between Fudan University and Suzhou Zhongyifeng Optoelectronics is not only a deep integration of the scientific research resources of universities and the industrial advantages of enterprises, but also an important milestone in the development of human factors optics from laboratory to daily life and scene application.
In the future, both parties will continue to focus on light health and human factors intelligent lighting. With human factors experiments as the cornerstone and intelligent algorithms as the core, they will continue to break through the boundaries of lighting technology, empower healthy living spaces with the light of science, and redefine the humanistic and health values of intelligent lighting in the new era.
