Garmin launches Fenix 8 Pro Micro LED smartwatch: screen peak 4500 nits

Fenix 8 Pro AMOLED is available in 47mm and 51mm sizes, priced at US$1,120 (IT House Note: The current exchange rate is approximately RMB 8,000) and US$1,200 (the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 8,571) respectively;
Fenix 8 Pro Micro LED is only available in 51mm size and costs US$2,000 (about 14,286 yuan at current exchange rate).

Among the new products launched this time, the most noteworthy is Fenix 8 Pro Micro LED, which has a peak brightness of 4500 nits and more than 400,000 independent light control units. With scratch-resistant sapphire glass and titanium alloy bezel, it can still maintain clear visibility under strong light.

However, the thickness is 2.2mm higher than the regular version, and the battery life is compromised: the Micro LED model can last 10 days in smart mode (always-on display is reduced to 4 days), while the AMOLED version can last up to 27 days.

In addition to the Micro LED screen, Fenix 8 Pro series smartwatches directly integrate satellite communication and LTE functions for the first time, supporting two-way satellite messaging, SOS distress and location sharing through the inReach system, and can connect to the Garmin 24/7 response center without a mobile phone.

You can make direct voice calls under the LTE network (the other party needs to install the Garmin Messenger app) and receive real-time weather updates. It is worth noting that communication services are provided directly by Garmin without operator support, but the scope of functions is limited to users in the same ecosystem.

In terms of hardware, the Fenix 8 Pro series continues the solid design of the Fenix series, supports diving-grade waterproofing and military-grade impact/temperature resistance standards, and has a built-in multi-mode LED flashlight.

The sports health function comprehensively covers advanced indicators such as endurance score, hill climbing index, training readiness, VO2 Max, etc., and can be used with the HRM 600 heart rate belt to analyze running posture and event predictions. New jet lag consultant and sleep coaching functions are added, and topological maps and outdoor navigation systems are pre-installed.
