Hitachi issued a new red LED, brightness up to 5 times

Hitachi cable 17 issued a message pointed out that the development of new products to enhance the brightness of red LED compared with the existing 5 times. Expected to be commercialized in June 2008. The product is added with a metal reflective film on the chip to suppress the light loss inside the chip.

New products mainly between the chip substrate and the luminescent layer is a metal reflective layer to prevent the light emitted from the light emitting layer is absorbed by the substrate, and to reach the average level of 1W 65 lumens. The average 1W brightness of existing products is 12 lumens. The brightness of the product can be increased by more than 5 times, and the LED chip can achieve the same brightness. Combined with green and blue LED, the application of backlight in LCD panel is highly anticipated.
