India airport lighting change using LED lamp

According to India media reports, the day before, the India Airport Authority (Airports Authority of India, AAI) and the India energy efficiency Services Limited (EESL) signed a memorandum of understanding, the installation of energy-saving LED lamp in the AAI management of airports, buildings and facilities, to replace the traditional lamp. It is reported that AAI manages 98 domestic and 23 international and 8 customs airport in India.

The memorandum requires the use of energy-saving LED lamp agreed to replace the traditional lamps, in accordance with the India Energy Service Companies (ESCO) model, to complete the upfront investment, according to the benchmark annuity back project for a period of 5 years. The whole project is estimated to cost 2 billion 441 million rupees (about 238 million yuan), EESL will be the five year warranty replacement.

All procurement, installation and maintenance work will be borne by the EESL lighting, AAI does not bear any burden. The project will be signed in the final agreement on energy efficiency (EPA) from the date of completion within four months. On Monday, AAI said in a statement: "AAI has completed the first phase of the LED lamp replacement, at a cost of 1 billion 600 million rupees (about 156 million yuan)...... will save about 1 billion 400 million rupees (about 137 million yuan)." This will bring great energy and cost savings for AAI airport.

AAI chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra said: "the total electricity consumption in the airport, about 20% for lighting load. EESL LED lighting to replace the existing lighting will bring huge benefits for AAI, not only to save power and reduce energy costs. This memorandum of understanding will ensure that the low cost LED lamp."
