Intel to build production joint venture NAND micron chip

November 22nd news Intel and micron technology company announced on Monday that the two sides will jointly funded the establishment of a joint venture, NAND flash memory chips in the production of consumer electronics, mobile phones and apple iPod music players use.

Intel and micron technology also said that Apple computer has agreed to pay $250 million respectively, booking the joint venture "great" part of the production.

Reported that the newly established joint venture called IM Flash Technology Co., Ltd. (IM Flash Technologies LLC). Intel and micron technology will each invest 1 billion 200 million dollars in cash, checks and other assets. Micron technology will have a 51% stake in the new company, while Intel has a 49% stake. The two companies also plan to invest an additional $1 billion 400 million over the next three years.

The agreement was announced on the same day, the Apple Com puter Inc will be announced in the next 3 months, including Intel and micron technology, several NAND manufacturers have a payment of $1 billion 250 million, to guarantee the iPod digital music and video player on 2010 NAND chip demand.

The new company is expected to start production in early 2006.
