Is China made LED bulb lantern crazy in Korea?

According to foreign media in July 14th, more and more North Korean people have been snapping up the LED bulb in China. Although the LED bubble lamp is expensive, but compared with the traditional incandescent lamp, LED has high efficiency and energy saving effect, which is undoubtedly the best choice for a country with serious power shortage. So, generally, North Koreans are willing to choose a LED bulb with high prices but can achieve normal lighting at low voltage.

In November 2013, North Korea reported that North Korea's electricity was very scarce and even 70% of the electricity needed by the user could not be met, which forced the people to look for more energy saving alternative energy. "Recently, there has been a sharp increase in the number of Korean people buying LED bulb lights, and inland merchants are competing to buy LED bulb lights from the border cities on the border between China and the DPRK," said a North Korean, who did not want to be named.

In February 2014, a report from the North Korean official said that the lighting appliance manufacturers all over the country were adding horsepower to produce LED lighting products. More and more family lighting and public lighting have begun to use LED lamps and lanterns, and LED lamps and lanterns have been installed in the major hotels and buildings. But the report does not talk about whether the current production schedule can fully meet the demand for new lighting products, and that is why North Koreans have been buying China's LED bubble light.

According to some sources, the soaring popularity of LED lights in North Korea is due to the lack of electricity in North Korea, which can not provide the 220V voltage required for normal household electrical appliances, but the LED lights can be normally illuminated under low voltage conditions. In the peak period of the summer, the common household voltage of North Korea is only 170V, and it is lower to 100V in winter. The incandescent lamp is difficult to provide normal lighting under the 220V voltage, and the LED lamp is different. Even if the voltage is lower than 70V, it can still be normally illuminated. So, although the price of the LED lamp is two times higher than the incandescent lamp, the Korean people are willing to buy the LED lights.

Another advantage of the LED lamp, according to the US Energy Agency, is the long service life. The life span of high power LED lamp can reach 50000 hours. Compared with incandescent lamp with only 2000 hours and 15000 hours fluorescent lamp, the life advantage of LED lamp is outstanding.

Another source said that in the Korean market, the incandescent lamp price is about 3 yuan, and the price of the LED lamp is different, mainly depending on its shape. For example, the LED bulb lamp, which can be swirled directly into the ordinary lamp holder, sells for more than 10 yuan. Now, the LED bulb is quite popular in Korea, at least one in each house.
