It is reported that Samsung will start trial production of 115-inch RGB MicroLED TV, focusing on color purity

According to news on June 13, Korean media TheElec reported last night that Samsung is about to launch trial production of a 115-inch RGB Micro LED TV.

Sources revealed that Samsung TV business head Yin Xiyu (transliteration) went to the Vietnam factory last week and personally inspected the relevant production processes.

This RGB Micro LED TV is an upgraded version of Samsung Neo QLED TV. Neo QLED uses Mini LED as the backlight source and is a type of liquid crystal TV (LCD).

Although Samsung calls it a Micro LED TV,In fact, this TV does not have self-illuminating properties. The accurate technical name should be RGB Mini LED-LCD TV. It is called "RGB" because it does not use traditional white LEDs, but directly uses red, green, and blue LEDs as backlight sources.

IT House learned from reports that traditional white LEDs are produced by adding phosphors to blue LEDs. They have a wider wavelength and can easily lead to less pure colors after passing through filters. The RGB LEDs each maintain independent wavelengths, have higher color purity, and are not easily distorted even through light filters.

However, unlike Samsung’s QLED TV, this RGB Micro LED TV does not use quantum dot technology. People familiar with the matter said that this is because RGB LEDs already have excellent color expression and do not require additional quantum dot films.

The outside world is generally paying attention to the pricing of this product. At the CES show earlier this year, Samsung showed different models of 75-inch, 85-inch and 98-inch products, and positioned RGB Micro LED as a high-end TV product that is more accessible to the people than self-luminous Micro LED.
