On May 28, Korean media The elec reported that YAS, a large Korean OLED deposition equipment manufacturer, is further deepening cooperation with Chinese customers. After recently receiving an order for TCL Huaxing's deposition equipment, YAS will continue to supply evaporation sources for its 8.6-generation OLED production line. This is also the first time that YAS has simultaneously supplied core equipment and key components in China's 8.6-generation IT OLED investment project.
According to industry sources, TCL CSOT recently issued an evaporation source bidding announcement for the 8.6-generation inkjet printing OLED production line on the Chinese bidding platform.
This tender includes 6 linear evaporation sources and 72 point evaporation sources. At present, YAS has received a letter of intent from TCL CSOT and is advancing the supply process. The expected transaction size is approximately 10 billion won (approximately RMB 45.12 million). These evaporation sources will be installed on the same production line as the deposition equipment ordered earlier, and delivery times will be synchronized.
In mid-April this year, YAS signed a supply contract with TCL Huaxing for the deposition equipment of the display mass production line. The contract will last until the end of 2027. The open mask deposition system provided by YAS is mainly used to form OLED general layers such as electron injection layers and electron transport layers.

As the core component of heating and vaporizing organic materials inside the deposition equipment, the evaporation source is directly related to the uniformity of the film and process stability. Since it is a consumable product, it can also bring continuous income to YAS in the future.
TCL Huaxing's 8.6-generation OLED production line in Guangzhou is mainly targeted at panel manufacturing for IT equipment such as tablets, laptops and monitors, and plans to use inkjet printing OLED technology. Although this technology forms part of the luminescent layer through printing and improves material utilization, it does not completely replace the traditional process. Common layers such as charge transport layers and electron injection layers still rely on deposition processes, which is why TCL Huaxing purchased open mask deposition equipment and evaporation sources.
In addition to its breakthrough in the Chinese market, YAS also received an evaporation source order for LG Display’s new 6th generation OLED production line. Thanks to these large orders, YAS's performance is expected to rebound strongly this year, with annual revenue expected to surge from 34.8 billion won last year to about 170 billion won. In order to cope with the growing order demand, YAS also plans to build a fifth factory in Paju. It is expected that its annual production capacity will increase from the current 400 billion won to 600 billion won by 2027. (Compiled by TrendForce Display)
