LEDinside:LED chip price decline, high power LED packaging prices continue to decline in October

According to the latest price report of the LED Research Center (LEDinside), in October 2018, the price of high-power packaging products in the Chinese market declined significantly.

LEDinside analyst Wang Ting said that in response to the third quarter chip price reduction, the price of high-power products continued to decline in October, but the prices varied, while the price of medium power products remained stable for the time being. Among them, the price of high-power ceramic substrate products continued to decline, the amplitude was around 2-5%, and the 7070 product price of 5-10W also decreased by about 4%.

In the case of the general lighting market becoming mature and the demand slowing down, upgrading the added value of products, improving product reliability, color and optical efficiency is the focus of the company's development. For example, Lumileds introduced the new LUXEON V2 LED. Under the current driving of 1A, the luminous efficiency is up to 150lm/W, which can achieve DLC Premium requirements at the system level, and the design can make 99% of all light forward emission.

The global price of light bulbs has declined slightly, and people in Europe have been attracted by lighting products.

In terms of bulb bulbs, the average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 40W incandescent lamps in October dropped by 0.3% to 6.2 dollars, while the average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 60W incandescent lamps dropped by 0.5% to 7.3 dollars.

From the major regions of the world, the European region filament lamp products are still favored by consumers, and the market competition is fierce. Major brand manufacturers such as Sylvnia, V-Tac, M ller Licht continue to substantially reduce product prices. In addition, OSRAM, Signify and other international manufacturers launched many low-priced filament lamps in October, which also led to a decline in retail prices of LED bulbs in Europe.

In October, the retail price of LED bulbs instead of 40W and 60W incandescent lamps decreased by 0.7% and 0.8% respectively in the UK and 1.5% and 0.9% respectively in the German region. In other regional markets, the average price of LED bulbs, which replace 40W and 60W incandescent lamps, has dropped slightly, falling by 0.5-1%.

It is noteworthy that European Human Centric Lighting and intelligent lighting products are sought after by the market. On the basis of the original products, brand manufacturers redefine the lighting products and add various functions, such as scene setting or ambient light perception, so that the products are more humanized. In October, some manufacturers launched several intelligent dimming atmosphere lamps, and retail prices were generally higher than the market average price. (text: Terri, Christine / LEDinside)
