Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, plans to replace urban lighting more deeply, with the goal of halving the cost of lighting and saving about $2 million a year.
At present, Wellington has installed intelligent LED street lights in Courtney Place and other areas, and also in some areas of the suburb of LED lighting pilot.
Wellington municipal spokesman Paul Glenny said that taxpayers would be able to benefit directly from the cost savings, and that the city first considered lighting replacement on the road, and could be extended to the coastal area in the future.
