On April 29, Hainan Science and Technology Museum officially opened. As an important project of the provincial comprehensive science popularization venue, its giant screen theater was put into use simultaneously. The theater was built by Lopu and took about six months to complete. It is the first case in South China to apply a full-screen, fully sound-transparent LED movie screen projection system in a science and technology museum.
The project uses a 20-meter 4K fully sound-transparent LED movie screen certified by DCI. This LED movie screen features high contrast, 4K resolution, and full-screen sound transparency, ensuring image quality while optimizing sound field performance.
Compared with traditional projection systems, it has certain advantages in display brightness and environmental adaptability. It can support a variety of application scenarios such as movie viewing, meetings, education and training, and stage performances in non-dark environments, expanding the boundaries of cinema space.
Lopp said that this project demonstrates the application exploration of LED display technology in science popularization venues. By combining the immersive visual system with educational content, it improves the presentation form and interactive experience of science popularization displays, and provides new technical paths for related scenes.
From the perspective of application extension, related technologies have been continuously implemented in multiple venue projects. On January 21, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum completed the renovation of the dome theater and launched the country's first 700-square-meter LED dome system used in science popularization venues. It was built by Lopu. It has a diameter of 23 meters and a tilt angle of 30°. It supports 8K resolution and 7.1-channel sound effects, and can be used for starry sky simulations and astronomical phenomenon displays.
At the international exhibition level, on April 13, the world's first HDR LED movie screen developed and manufactured by Lopu that passed the DCI CTP1.5.0 certification was unveiled at the CinemaCon exhibition in Las Vegas, USA, for display to the overseas cinema industry.
In terms of product and application development, Lopu participated in the InfoComm exhibition at the National Convention Center from April 15th to 17th, exhibiting a "fully transparent passive 3D screen". This product was publicly unveiled for the first time in China. This solution combines Enpar Audio and dynamic seating systems to build an overall "LED 4D Cinema" solution to explore a multi-sensory immersive viewing experience.
On the manufacturing side, the Lopu COB Intelligent Manufacturing Center was officially opened on March 16. The project completed the transformation of the old production line, the introduction of equipment and the lighting of the first batch of products in about four months, providing support for subsequent product development and large-scale production.
