MIT startup showcases OLED display with world's largest viewing angle

It was reported on January 10 that Brelyon, a startup company based at MIT, pioneered a new class of ultra-immersive display technology and demonstrated the concept product Brelyon Fusion at CES 2023, an OLED display with the world's largest field of view FoV.

Brelyon Fusion is a concept display technology that is the world's first 8K desktop virtual display, featuring a semicircular ring design with the latest computing and light field extension innovations, as well as surround video conferencing using synthetic aperture technology and spatial audio - all without the need for a headset.

The display screen size exceeds 110 inches and can be up to 122 inches. Thanks to Brelyon's light expansion and depth modulation technology, this OLED screen has an ultra-wide field of view of 155°. Additionally, the device has an ambient noise suppression system, similar to active noise cancellation in headphones.

Barmak Heshmat, CEO and founder of Brelyon, said: "Brelyon Fusion allows mixed light to scale the field of view in a new way, thus doubling the resolution."

It is understood that Brelyon Fusion is currently only a prototype product and will not be put on the market yet. The company said it expects to be mass-produced in 3-4 years. (Source: IT Home)
