Mulinsen plans to acquire 51% of the shares of the leading low-altitude lighting company

On the evening of January 3, Mulinsen issued an announcement announcing that the company had completed the signing of a "Cooperation Intent Agreement" with project partners Chen Li and Guangzhou Xinhang Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinhang Technology"). The parties plan to collaborate on core projects such as the research and development, production and manufacturing of low-altitude lighting and aviation lighting-related products and systems.

According to the agreement, Mulinsen plans to acquire 51% of the shares of Singapore Airlines Technology. The two parties have initially determined that the overall valuation of Singapore Airlines Technology will not exceed 750 million yuan. After the acquisition, Mulinsen will support its independent listing when conditions are mature. According to the plan, SIA Technology's annual net profit from 2025 to 2027 is expected to be no less than 50 million yuan, 60 million yuan and 70 million yuan respectively.

Mulinsen lays out the field of low-altitude lighting

TrendForce's "2024 Global LED Lighting Market Analysis-2H24" analysis points out that the LED general lighting industry is experiencing "consumption downgrade". The current situation of falling volume and price not only affects the growth expectations of the LED general lighting industry, but also forces players in the traditional lighting industry to re-examine their market strategies and focus on segmented application areas with greater growth potential.
In this context, Mulinsen will focus on the development of low-altitude lighting.

According to data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, China's low-altitude economic market size has exceeded 500 billion yuan in 2023, and is expected to exceed 2 trillion yuan in 2030. The demand for low-altitude lighting is growing with the development of the industry. Due to its high brightness, stability, and long life, LED technology has become an ideal choice for aviation facilities such as general airports, helicopters, and drones, effectively ensuring flight safety and reducing operating costs.

In order to seize this emerging market, Mulinsen established the Aviation Lighting Division in December 2024, which was jointly established by its lighting brand business and LED intelligent manufacturing team to introduce the company's technical advantages in the field of LED lighting into the aviation field, focusing on the research, development and production of various products used in low-altitude aircraft lighting and ground guidance lighting.

In addition, Mulinsen further consolidated its market position in the aviation lighting and low-altitude lighting fields through the acquisition of SIA Technology.

SIA Technology was founded in 2016. Its products cover intelligent management and control systems for aviation obstruction lights, heliport navigation lights, airport navigation lights, navigation lights, stadium lights and other professional lighting facilities. They are widely used in high poles, wind turbines, buoys, iron towers, chimneys, ports, bridges, high-rise buildings, civil airports, heliports and sports venues. The products are sold to Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.

Mulinsen said that through this transaction, the company will gain customer resources, overall design capabilities, successful cases, a mature team and relatively complete qualifications, licenses, and patents. The integration of these resources will help the listed company's resources and capabilities to form better synergies with the acquisition target. Ensure that both parties can develop jointly and steadily in the new industries brought about by the low-altitude economy.

LED companies actively explore emerging fields

As the times progress, LED companies rely on keen insights and firm strategic layout to actively explore emerging markets, expanding from the traditional lighting field to emerging fields such as low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, and new energy.

Wuxi Lighting also focuses on the low-altitude economic field like Mulinsen.

According to the official WeChat account of Wuxi Lighting, under the guidance of the Wuxi Lighting and Drainage Management Center, Wuxi Lighting integrated drones with smart light poles, installed a small drone field and connected to the "Wuxi Lighting Smart Lighting Digital Cloud Platform" to realize automated inspections of surrounding road sections. At the same time, AI intelligent recognition algorithms are used to build a low-altitude intelligent network based on a digital cloud platform.

In addition, the wave of AI artificial intelligence will continue to rise in 2024, and more and more LED companies will join the ranks of integrating AI technology and industry. For example, Hongli Zhihui maintains a high level of attention on new technologies such as AI and actively explores cooperation opportunities in the AI field industry. Currently, Mini LED products have been used in AI interactive terminals, VR glasses and other products.

Unilumin Technology is also committed to the product development of "LED light display + AI". It has released many projects in the 20th anniversary celebration series held in October 2024, mainly through AI empowerment, exploring technologies such as large models, naked-eye 3D, and XR virtual shooting as the core, and providing full-link comprehensive solutions from hardware, content to services.

In the field of humanoid robots, 2024 is regarded as a critical year. In this field, Leyard's Virtual Point has accumulated many core algorithm technologies such as OptiTrack optical positioning calculation, LydCap marker-free point recognition calculation, and LYDIA large action model in recent years, which can provide action data and algorithm support for embodied intelligence, especially humanoid robots.

In addition, the new energy industry will also usher in vigorous development in 2024. Many LED companies such as Nova Nebula, Inventronics, Overclocking 3, TCL Technology, Holzer, Cerulean Lithium Core, Dongshan Precision, Mulinsen, Songsheng Co., Ltd., Aika Co., Ltd., Absen, etc. have made cross-border layouts and actively expanded new energy business, injecting new vitality into the development of the entire new energy industry.

Summary

In the complex and fierce competitive environment, LED companies have entered emerging fields. However, how to successfully transform these emerging businesses into the key to the company's growth curve is still an important challenge facing manufacturers. As market demand and technology change, whether LED companies can effectively integrate into emerging fields, enhance competitiveness, and achieve sustainable development deserves continued attention from the industry.
