Under laboratory conditions, the luminous efficiency of OLED has been more than 20 lm/W, the brightness is 1000 cd/m2. This makes it possible for the application of invisible spacers during the day, while providing a diffuse light at night.
Right now, OLED's transparency is only 55%, and the product can further improve the performance, to reach 75%. At the same time, the front and rear surface of the OLED panel output light is adjusted to a wider range. This means that it is possible to set up a surface light source mounted on a furniture or shelter to allow light to shine in a particular direction.
As part of the 2008 German education and research organization OLED lighting application project (BMBF project OPAL2008), the test has been completed. (http://www.ledsmagazine.com/news/4/12/30)
