SDK new LED chip gallium nitride based near ultraviolet light

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) launched by the new LED chip is made of GaN based materials, the light emitted near ultraviolet light, mainly used for general lighting and large LCD backlight lighting etc..

The series of gallium nitride based LED can be matched with phosphor material emitting white light. SDK said that the combination of blue light LED and Huang Linxiang can emit white light for the phone's large screen display backlight. However, the existing white light illumination is insufficient, can not be used for general lighting, and their color rendering index is relatively low.

When the LED combined with time series of UV phosphor luminescence, can produce three kinds of light colors including red, green and blue color index making products using this technology can achieve high, allows for general lighting.

Using this kind of commercial blue LED technology based on gallium nitride, SDK has developed the LED chip structure, which can transmit light to ultraviolet light. The LED can reach the power of 14mW, and the wavelength is about 400nm. The power level of the phosphor material is sufficient for general lighting. The series also uses a UV LED epitaxial wafer technology, this technology is a new energy and industrial technology development organization, the twenty-first Century high efficiency electro-optical conversion part with semiconductor development plan.

At the same time, the series LED can emit high brightness, stability is also very good. The company has developed on the surface structure of Ultra Blue LED, the brightness of the structure obviously because of existing products: power 6.5mW, brightness 400mcd, 505nm wavelength (with blue or green) power of 6mW, the brightness of 500mcd, wavelength is 525nm. SDK also revealed that the company will also produce pure green, the wavelength of 555nm LED.
