Tuesday local time, the Japanese electronics maker Sharp Co said, this year more than 32 inch TV with a liquid crystal display panel (LCD) will be a shortage of 15-30%. This comment and the original Samsung Electronics and LG and other industry giants expect the panel supply will be contradictory remarks. Sharp Co executive director Toshishige Hamano told reporters that this time last year, analysts expect Samsung and LG as the LCD panel factory construction will lead to overcapacity, but the fact is still unable to meet the demand of production. Hamano said consumers quickly turned to large-size LCD TVs led to a shortage of panels, as well as production is less than expected, but also one of the reasons.
Sharp Co is one of the world's largest producers of LCD TV and panel manufacturers. Most of its LCD panels are for their own use, and some are available to other TV makers. Hamano said, according to the panel reflected by the customer demand is rising rapidly, the company aim to improve the overseas sales for fiscal year 08-09 overseas sales accounted for 60% of total revenue, and this proportion is only 48% years 04-05.
