South Korea announces proposal to revise safety standards for refurbishment of LED lamps to replace fluorescent lamps

On February 28, 2014, South Korea announced a proposal to revise the safety standards for the renovation of LED lamps instead of fluorescent lamps.

K10025 (LED lamps for fluorescent lamps refurbished - built-in converter type) is mainly revised as follows:

The revised standard K10025 (LED lamps for fluorescent lamps refurbished - built-in converter type) will include FPL LED lamps instead of fluorescent lamps for retrofitting due to the increased demand for safety certification of FPL LED lamps.

To this end, the scope of K10025 will be expanded to include built-in converter-type LED lamps compatible with single-ended fluorescent lamps specified in K61199 and double-ended fluorescent lamps specified in K61195.

The draft specifies basic quality requirements such as color temperature, color rendering and beam expansion angle.
