The country's first LED energy storage street lamp batch transformation pilot project was launched in Hangzhou

Recently, 101 special street lights were lit on Shangxiang Road, Chatang Road and other streets in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, marking the official implementation of the country's first LED energy storage street light batch renovation pilot project.

According to the person in charge of the City Appearance and Landscape Development Center of the Hangzhou Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, these street lights adopt the intelligent strategy of "low valley charging and peak peak discharge". During the low power period from 23:00 to 7:00 the next day, the street lights automatically charge and store electric energy in special batteries; during the morning peak period when power is tight, the system achieves "peak shaving and valley filling" through energy storage and power supply, which is expected to reduce regional lighting energy consumption by 30% and reduce carbon emissions by more than 100 tons.

The project engineer said that the system uses AI algorithms to analyze electricity price fluctuations in real time and optimize charging and discharging strategies. When electricity prices are expected to rise, the system will activate the energy storage mode in advance to ensure that the charging period is during a period when electricity prices are lower.

In addition, these street lights also have emergency power bank functions. In the event of extreme weather, the street lights can quickly activate reserve power to ensure continuous lighting for at least 8 hours. There are more than 20 emergency plans in the system, including responding to rainy season and cold wave weather, providing comprehensive emergency protection.

Each street lamp is also equipped with a "health bracelet" to monitor temperature, voltage and other data in real time. Once a lamp fails, the backend system can quickly locate the problem and respond faster than traditional maintenance methods. (Source: Hangzhou Daily)
