The OLED display market will reach US$57 billion in 2026

Research company IDTechEx has just announced its latest OLED display market forecast, believing that the market will reach US$16 billion this year and is expected to reach US$57 billion by 2026.

Over the past two years, the company has correctly predicted that plastic OLED and flexible OLED will become mainstream in the display market. In its latest report, the company revised its market forecast targets upward based on its capacity increase plan.

IDTechEx stated that the plastic and flexible AMOLED market will reach US$18 billion in 2020. These two segments are currently mainly smartphones and wearable devices, such as Apple Watch. Once the technology is more mature, it will likely be used in automotive displays.

New applications in the field of wearable devices, such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), provide new opportunities for OLED display manufacturers.

IDTechEx will showcase research results on new materials and technologies, including OLEDs, quantum dots, wearables and printed electronics, at SID Display Week in San Francisco next week. During the event, IDTechEx analysts will be speaking at seminars and exhibitor forums.
