The PCB industry chain is "rising", and LED products may increase in price again

Since late February 2026, a concentrated price increase has erupted in the electronic and chemical materials fields, causing the printed circuit board (PCB) industry to face severe cost challenges. It is reported that the core driving factors of this round of price increases show a multi-source superposition trend. First of all, continued tensions in the Middle East have directly pushed up international crude oil prices, leading to shortages of chemical raw materials such as epoxy resin, TBBA, and natural gas and skyrocketing prices. Secondly, the price of copper has been at a high level for a long time, coupled with the serious shortage of electronic-grade glass fiber cloth, which has caused the raw material and processing costs of copper-clad laminates to rise significantly. In the field of PCB-related materials such as copper clad laminate (CCL), prepreg (PP) superfiber base cloth, etc., many suppliers have intensively issued price adjustment notices. For the LED industry, PCB is the core substrate for LED chip/lamp bead carrying, thermal conductivity and circuit connection. Its price fluctuations directly affect the cost structure of terminal displays and lighting products. In the cost structure of LED displays, PCB usually accounts for a large proportion, and violent fluctuations in raw material prices will directly squeeze the profit margins of midstream and downstream companies. Especially under the current background of strong demand for high-end products such as AI servers and data centers, the PCB supply and demand gap may further expand. Previously, due to the inability to digest the rising supply chain costs, many LED-related companies have announced increases in product prices. Display manufacturer Leyard was the first to speak out in early February and decided to increase the prices of most of its LED display products by 3% to 15% starting from February 10, 2026. It was clearly pointed out that the rising cost of core raw materials such as PCBs, lamp beads and ICs was the main reason. Subsequently, Alto Electronics also announced that it would increase product prices by 5% to 10% starting from March 10. Unilumin Technology plans to adjust the prices of some outdoor lighting products by 5% to 15% starting from April 1. In the supporting link, LED power supply manufacturers such as Songsheng Co., Ltd. and Inventronics have also successively issued price adjustment notices ranging from 5% to 15%. In addition, more than 20 industrial chain companies, including Huapu Sunlife, Hongli Zhihui, Zhongqi Optoelectronics, etc., have recently issued price adjustment letters or market forecasts to actively respond to the operating pressure caused by fluctuations in raw materials. As the prices of upstream materials continue to rise, the cost pressure of the industrial chain is rapidly being transmitted to downstream PCB manufacturing and electronic terminals. In this context, more LED display and lighting related companies may further adjust product prices in the future.
