The results show that after 2013, there will be an explosion period for LED lighting. By 2016, China's lighting market capacity will reach 127.4 billion yuan, with an average growth rate of about 13%, while the LED general market will reach 56.8 billion yuan, with an average growth rate of more than 50%.
Analysis of general lighting market segments
The general lighting market is mainly divided into the following three major markets:
Market segments
Main places of use
Characteristics and requirements
Market demand
Commercial lighting
Hotels, supermarkets, restaurants,
office buildings, various wholesale cities, chain stores
Long use time, high demand for energy saving; high requirements for light efficiency, lifespan and heat dissipation of lamps; high requirements for lighting quality and human eye comfort of lamps, bulk purchase
According to statistics in 2012, there are more than 13,000 star-rated hotels in China, 676 five-star hotels, and star-rated hotels. 12,160, currently one of the market segments with the highest indoor lighting penetration rate, and also the most promising market
Industrial lighting
Warehouses, industrial and mining enterprises, factories, processing and production workshops
High dust-proof and anti-corrosion requirements, brightness, longevity High life, energy saving, and light efficiency requirements are required, and some fields have high special requirements for lighting. Bulk procurement
The area of factories and warehouses completed in the country before 2012 reached more than 500 million square meters. The number and area of emerging industrial and high-tech bases and development zones in various places are constantly increasing, which has a great impact on the industry. Miner's lamps, lamp tubes, and downlights are in high demand
Home lighting
Family, including living room, bedroom, kitchen, etc.
The use time is not long, the switches are more frequent, the color is warm, the lighting quality is high, the power is average, and the price is relatively obvious
The results of the sixth national census show that there are 401.52 million households in mainland China. At present, the penetration rate of LED lighting is extremely low, and the quality and price of lighting are highly concerned
1. Home market analysis
The acceleration of China’s urbanization process and the increase in residents’ disposable income have stimulated demand in the residential market. Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics show that the national real estate development investment in 2011 was 6.174 billion yuan, an actual increase of 20% over the previous year, of which residential investment increased by 30.2%. The newly started real estate construction area was 1.90083 million square meters, an increase of 16.2% over the previous year. The commercial housing sales area was 1.09946 million square meters, an increase of 4.9%. The national commercial housing sales were 5.9119 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1%. In 2012, the national real estate development investment was 7.1804 billion yuan, a nominal increase of 16.2% over the previous year (an actual increase of 14.9% after deducting price factors). The growth rate was 0.5 percentage points lower than that from January to November and 11.9 percentage points lower than that of 2011. Among them, residential investment was 4.9374 billion yuan, an increase of 11.4%.
In recent years, my country's home lighting industry has been developing continuously, rapidly and steadily. In 2011, China's home lighting market reached 18.6 billion yuan. With the continuous upgrading of the consumption structure, people are paying more and more attention to the selection of home lighting. It is expected that in 2016, the capacity of my country's home lighting market will reach 31.3 billion yuan. One of the main reasons for the slow promotion of LED lamps in the home lighting market is the higher product price. Therefore, reducing LED manufacturing costs has become the key to whether LED lighting products can replace other home lighting energy-saving products. According to estimates by the U.S. Department of Energy, LED chip and packaging costs will be reduced by 80% by 2020 compared with 2012, while luminous efficiency will increase by 60% to 100%. Therefore, if the cost of LED lamps can fall as much as expected, the demand for home lighting will be further released, and the LED lighting industry will enter a stage of accelerated development.
In 2012, the world economy continued to be sluggish, which affected the growth of the global LED lighting market. However, it will take some time for civilian demand to start, and the entire industry has withstood the baptism of the cold winter. To paraphrase a commonly used saying: Winter is coming, can spring be far behind? Data shows that the global LED market is showing signs of recovery in 2013. Many research institutions and industries have also generally given optimistic forecasts, believing that the global LED market will recover as a whole in 2013. The most prominent manifestation is that LED packaging costs will continue to decline.
At the same time, data shows that the output value of LED packaging used in the lighting market in 2012 was approximately US$2.66 billion, an increase of 23.5% compared to 2011. Among them, LED packaging has the highest proportion used in architectural landscape lighting or indoor lighting such as projection lamps and light bulbs. However, as LED packaging prices continue to decline, demand in lighting markets in various countries is gradually opening up due to early introduction and price incentives. Looking at the global LED light bulb market, as the lowest retail price of LED light bulbs equivalent to 40W incandescent lamps in South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom reached the sweet point of $10 each in 2012, consumers' willingness to purchase LED lamps has gradually increased. In 2013, the trend of continued cost reduction will be more obvious.
