Zhuhai BOE's crystal cores are officially mass-produced, and COB's planned monthly production capacity is 10,000㎡+

On March 10, BOE successfully held a COB mass production delivery ceremony at Zhuhai BOE Crystal Core Technology Co., Ltd. with the theme of "Pingyao Vientiane Mass Production Sets Sail", announcing the official mass production delivery of BOE's MLED Zhuhai project.

The total investment of the Zhuhai Jingxin project is about 1 billion yuan. It is located in Zhuhai Huafa Pingsha Electronic and Electrical Industrial Park, with a factory area of more than 40,000 square meters. The LED display products produced by this project cover all mainstream point spacing applications. The production line reaches the thousand-level cleanliness standard. The full automation rate is greater than 95%. The project planned COB monthly production capacity will reach 10,000 square meters+.

Looking back on the development history of the project, the Zhuhai Jingxin project was constructed rapidly, and it only took 9 months from the establishment of the project company to mass production.

In June 2024, Zhuhai BOE Crystal Core Technology Co., Ltd. completed its registration and establishment; in September of the same year, BOE held the unveiling ceremony of Zhuhai BOE Crystal Core Technology Co., Ltd. at the BOE IPC·2024 Conference MLED Forum, announcing the full launch of the Zhuhai Crystal Core project, and officially started construction in the same month; in December of the same year, the Zhuhai Crystal Core project held an equipment move-in ceremony, and the new factory was officially put into use;

In January this year, the COB product of the Zhuhai Jingxin Project was successfully lit. With the upgrade of the COB production line, BOE Crystal Core Technology can not only meet the production needs of larger-scale LED displays, but also significantly It improves product stability and accuracy and ensures the competitiveness of BOE's Mini/Micro LED products in the global market.

Built with three core technologies, BOE launches BYH-COB MLED series

BOE’s MLED business is mainly divided into two major segments: direct display business, backlight devices & backlight modules. In the direct display business, BOE has created COB\COG\SMD\Micro LED product lines, covering three major platforms: indoor, outdoor, and innovative applications.

BOE LED display screen has indoor applications, high color gamut, high contrast, bright state consistency, dark state consistency and other display effects, as well as high-end LED display products with energy saving, low power consumption, safety and convenience.

Relying on the mass production of this Zhuhai crystal core project, BOE has launched its new direct display BYH-COB MLED series. The Pro and Ultra versions of this series have been unveiled at the recent ISLE 2025 exhibition.

Among them, BYH-COB Pro P0.9 adopts a large-panel module design, with a single module size of 14.5 inches, which effectively reduces the number of seams and improves the integrity of the picture. It is widely used in conference rooms, supermarkets, exhibition halls and other scenes. BOE-BYH ULTRA in this series, as a customized high-end product of BOE MLED COB, relies on BOE's original optical film packaging technology and self-developed high-end surface anti-glare reflective film materials to achieve a contrast ratio of up to 20,000:1 under ambient light conditions of 10lux.

As the LED display industry continues to develop towards a market size of tens of billions of dollars, COB packaging technology plays an important role. The COB modular form not only optimizes the LED display manufacturing process and production costs, but also improves the LED display effect and product quality, laying the foundation for expanding LED display application scenarios.

According to "TrendForce's 2025 Global LED Display Market Outlook and Price and Cost Analysis", it is estimated that by the end of 2024, COB display production capacity will be approximately 57,600 square meters per month, with a compound growth rate of 126% from 2021 to 2024.
