Standards determine quality. From the perspective of the LED lighting industry, the quality of LED lighting products is not optimistic. According to the results of the 2013 national supervision and spot inspection of LED lighting product quality announced by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the sampling pass rate of LED lighting products was less than 80%, and many companies were even listed on the LED lighting quality black list. As the saying goes, there is no rule without rules. Faced with the problem of diverse specifications and substandard quality of LED lighting products, Guangdong has come up with a prescription for standard optical components for LED lighting. In 2014, the LED lighting standard optical component project team accelerated the promotion of standard optical components, actively launched the second batch of standard optical component proposal collection activities, strengthened the standardization of joint laboratory certification for LED lighting standard optical component testing, accelerated the labeling production and sales of LED label products representing standard optical components, expanded the scale of the LED lighting standard optical component R&D and application alliance, enhanced the alliance's influence, and strengthened the solid and steady advancement of standard identification work.
Launch the second batch of proposal solicitation to strengthen the continuous dynamic optimization of standards and specifications The current LED lighting industry is in a stage of rapid technological development, and industry standards and product technology level certification methods have lagged behind industry development. Based on the rapid development of LED lighting technology, the LED lighting standard optical component technology system follows the principle of dynamic update, adopts a working method of selecting the best from the best, obtains market-proven, mature LED technology, best-selling LED product performance and indicators, and conducts timely dynamic updates. In order to prepare for the second batch of standard optical component proposal solicitation activities, starting from the end of 2013, the project team organized and held a second batch of standard optical component proposal work seminars to make work arrangements for the second batch of proposal solicitation activities, and then went deep into the market to discuss the second batch of solicitation matters with the person in charge of the company, the marketing department, and the R&D department.
It is reported that the solicitation of proposals for LED lighting standard light components is currently ongoing, and the technical specification system for LED lighting standard light components has been continuously improved. The detailed specifications for standard light components have increased to 25, including 3 new detailed specifications, including 2 detailed specifications for light source modules jointly drafted by NVC Lighting and Dehao Runda, which are mainly suitable for downlights, and 2 detailed specifications for street lighting modules jointly drafted by members of the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance. With the rapid advancement of LED lighting standard optical components, companies inside and outside Guangdong Province have applied for authorization to use or propose standard optical component products, and the need for standard certification and testing is imminent. In order to speed up the identification of standard optical components and fully mobilize corporate resources, after research and decision by the LED Lighting Standard Optical Component Certification Committee, the Certification Committee will unite standard optical component production and application companies with relevant laboratory qualifications to establish an "LED Lighting Standard Optical Component Testing Joint Laboratory" to test standard optical component products within the company and jointly proposed companies. At present, NVC Optoelectronics and Jinko Electronics have become the first batch of units to be authorized as the "LED Lighting Standard Optical Component Testing Joint Laboratory", while Unilumin Technology, Hongli Optoelectronics, and Nationstar Optoelectronics are also actively applying for the qualification certification of the "LED Lighting Standard Optical Component Testing Joint Laboratory", and the Standard Optical Component Certification Committee is conducting qualification reviews and on-site reviews for them.
According to relevant experts, the accreditation review of the "LED Lighting Standard Optical Component Testing Joint Laboratory" is very strict. In addition to being a governing unit of the LED Lighting Standard Optical Component R&D and Application Alliance, companies must also participate in the development, use or promotion of standard optical components every year. In addition, companies that have qualifications accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in electronic appliances or lighting, or have relevant laboratory qualification certification conditions such as provincial or above key laboratories or engineering centers, can be given priority. In order to better serve enterprises, solve their problems in the process of applying LED lighting standard optical components, and expand the market for LED lighting standard optical components and their application products, the LED Lighting Standard Optical Components R&D and Application Alliance was officially established on September 18, 2013. The alliance aims to lead the standardized application of LED lighting standard optical components and ensure the dynamic management of the LED lighting standard optical component specification system. Under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial LED Standardization Working Committee, it will carry out the revision and maintenance of the standard optical component specification system, intellectual property and patents, statistical analysis of industrial information, platform construction and other related work. Dr. Sui Shirong of the Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center was elected as the first chairman of the LED Lighting Standard Optical Component R&D and Application Alliance. Xu Chen of the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Standardization and Lei Ming of China Southern Power Grid Integrated Energy Co., Ltd. were elected as vice presidents of the alliance. 27 LED companies, including Guosheng Investment, Jinko Electronics, and Sanxiong Aurora, were elected as council members of the LED Lighting Standard Optical Component R&D and Application Alliance.
After just half a year, the LED Lighting Standard Optical Components R&D and Application Alliance has attracted more than 150 members. More than 80% of the companies in the province have a preliminary understanding of LED lighting standard optical components and actively applied to join the alliance. In the future, the alliance will continue to grow in size, and with an open mind, it will actively absorb more companies that agree with the concept of standard optical component systems and are willing to contribute to the standardization of China's LED lighting industry, so as to strengthen the solid and steady advancement of the alliance's work. Promote the labeling and sales of LED products and strengthen the orderly development of industrial standardization work In 2013, the overall work of standard optical components focused on the establishment and improvement of the overall architecture (technical system, management system). In 2014, the focus of standard optical components shifted to comprehensive promotion and sustainable operations. The most important of these is the implementation of standards, that is, the labeling and sales of LED standard products.
It is reported that two companies, NVC Optoelectronics and Jinko Electronics, have passed the certification of standard optical components and sold standard optical component products with labels. Among them, Jinko Electronics, as the leading unit in the development of Level 1 and Level 2 LED standard light components in Guangdong Province, has developed a series of indoor light component products and solutions that are convenient for lighting manufacturers to apply, including ceiling lamp series, HV series, downlight and ceiling lamp series, which are mainly used for indoor lighting. The LED products produced and sold by NVC Lighting are mainly LEDMR16B light source series and LED ceiling light series. As of early February, the labeling sales of standard optical component products reached 200,000 pieces. This is the beginning of the marketization and scale of LED lighting standard optical components. As more companies join in, LED lighting standard optical components will be fully rolled out in the market, and industrial middleware standardization will eventually be realized to form an industry "de facto standard."
