LED inheritors -- Analysis of the development of OLED

Time:2017-05-23 FONT:bigMinmin

OLED and LED are qualitatively different from each other in terms of the difference between letters. As an ideal material for the next generation of lighting, the potential market for OLED is enormous. Yes, that's what's underneath.

Introduction to OLED Technology

OLED, known as organic light-emitting diodes, also known as electromechanical laser display, was discovered in the laboratory by Chinese American professor Deng Qingyun, whose patents are owned by Kodak.

OLED technology has the characteristics of self luminous, using very thin organic coating and glass substrate. When the current passes, the organic material glows, and the OLED shows a large viewing angle, a maximum of 160 degrees, and saves power.

OLED growth trend analysis

Recently, ElectroniCast Consultants, a California based market research company, published an updated market forecast report, which analyzed the global consumption of OLED in lighting applications.

According to the report data show that in 2015, OLED lighting global sales will reach 150 million U. s.dollars, is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 75%, in 2020 will reach 2 billion 400 million U. s.dollars. By 2023, the total value of OLED lighting is expected to soar to the highest value of $6 billion 700 million. Then, by 2025, it is expected to fall back to $5 billion 500 million.

The report points out that although OLED sales will fall slightly after the average unit price drops ten years later, sales are expected to continue to climb.

In this study, including the definition of lighting analyst general lighting and professional lighting lighting, such as directional complement, architecture, and OLED panel for vehicle, but does not include billboards, TV, display and signal lamp OLED.

The next ten years, OLED lighting will usher in prosperity

OLED lighting, environmental protection, mercury free, is the ideal material for the next generation of lighting. Because of its ultra thin, ultra light and low power consumption, it can be used as a surface light source, and OLED has a wide range of potential applications.

Insiders pointed out that the OLED lighting market will continue to grow across the field of light bulbs, the future will serve more applications, which is not even in the current stage of imagination.

OLED's future applications include windows or skylights, walls and ceilings, mirrors with lighting, floors, staircases, and almost unlimited possibilities.

OLED other areas of vision

10 at the end of 2014, the British science and technology research and development company to develop a "transparent plane" plan, applying OLED to the aircraft body, not only can let passengers see the scenery outside the window, and even can become a touch screen, allowing passengers to enjoy the feeling 360 degree location, as flying in the sky.

The British craft innovation center envisioned a windowless aircraft with a OLED display. The enhanced brightness of the cabin lights came from the bulkhead light wall, creating a unique atmosphere for passengers. Flexible screen using OLED technique is extremely lightweight, high quality, flexible embedded into the body and seat back lining board, integrated together, eliminating the heavy shell, can play high-definition display screen capture from outside the aircraft camera. Thus optimizing the space and reducing the weight of the aircraft not only reduces costs, makes the body lighter, firmer, spacious seats, and reduces fuel consumption.
