Mini-LED display suppliers report shrinking consumer demand, revealing Apple will transition to OLED in the next few years

DigiTimes report cites industry sources from Epistar, which has been supplying mini-LED displays to Apple for some time, as saying that demand for mini-LED displays for consumer electronics devices is decreasing and is expected to be used in dashboards and automotive displays. Demand for mini-LED displays will surge in 2023. Reports indicate that Samsung is now prioritizing the development of a specific type of OLED display that Apple plans to use in new iPad Pro models. According to DigiTimes, Apple is expected to announce the first iPad Pro equipped with an OLED display in 2024, which has triggered the attention of mini-LED suppliers to other areas of application for its displays.
