With the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant shutdown in Taiwan, major energy-related manufacturers have provided suggestions for energy policies and launched a "National Mobilization to Save Electricity." Delta Electronics Chairman Hai Yingjun called on companies to start with their own energy conservation, and the government should set stricter energy consumption standards; Jingdian Chairman Li Bingjie suggested that companies and people replace LED energy-saving products with a 30% tax deduction to encourage people to replace them.
Li Bingjie said that according to Taipower's statistics, 29.4% of Taiwan's electricity usage is used for lighting, and the power-saving benefits of LED lighting are obvious to all and are a global trend.
Li Bingjie said that if everyone quickly replaces LEDs, the power saving effect will be very good. In the past, LED manufacturers have suggested that the government subsidize people to purchase LED lamps. However, considering the government's current financial constraints, the plan suggests that the government can use tax concessions to quickly achieve nationwide power saving.
Hai Yingjun emphasized that by promoting energy management, improving energy efficiency, and making factories and offices green, the electricity intensity of Delta's major production bases around the world dropped by 40% in 2013 compared with 2009.
