Samsung launches SmartThings home networking platform

Recently, Samsung launched a new Internet of things platform for the family SmartThings. The platform adopts SmartThings Hub, which can provide WiFi coverage for families with a maximum of 140 square meters. For larger families, Connect Home Smart WiFi System 3-Pack can be used. Samsung's home networking platform acts as the "brain" of the system, enabling consumers to wirelessly connect and control many electronic devices.

The platform enables users to control and operate automatically connected devices.

The platform enables users to monitor, control and automatically operate various kinds of connection devices in the family. For example, users can set up and turn off networking lights. Just press the button to switch the lights. It can be set at the same time every day, or when doors and windows are opened, or someone says, "turn on the kitchen lights." The system is compatible with PHILPS Hue, CREE's networking LED bulbs, hi Wan's color LED bulbs and Levitron's universal dimmer.

Samsung has launched SmartThings Outlet in many of its devices. Samsung said the outlet allows consumers to control lights, electronic equipment and small household appliances anywhere in the home.

System integration sensor

The system can integrate Samsung's SmartThings sensor series. In a variety of functions, these sensors can let people know when to turn on or close cabinets, windows and doors, when there is water leakage, and whether there are activities inside and outside the home.

Samsung also sells many packages that can be integrated with the platform, including SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit and ADT Home Security Starter Kit. (Editor: LED net James)
