So far, the company's LED chip and finished product businesses have reached full production and are still expanding production. The company's LED chips are competitive in the market. This year's full-year target is to produce and sell 2.6 billion units, and it is expected to reach 2 billion units in the first half of the year.
Chen Yue stressed that Meikale Optoelectronics, a subsidiary of Silan Micro, which specializes in LED color display packaging devices, has achieved full production this year. Its gross profit margin has increased significantly in the first quarter and has begun to make profits. Meikale will also enter the special lighting market in the next step.
Chen Yue also revealed that the revenue of LED lighting power supplies, which was not listed separately in the first quarter report, has doubled year-on-year. However, he also pointed out that although the company is more confident in the development of the LED business this year, it will not be too aggressive in increasing investment.
Shilanwei predicts that the company will achieve total operating income of about 2.1 billion yuan in 2014 (expected to increase by about 28% compared with 2013), and total operating costs will be controlled at about 1.9 billion yuan.
