According to Thailand’s Local Electricity Bureau, 80% of Thailand’s lighting products need to be imported. The government has strongly supported the selection of energy-saving products in recent years. Thailand’s huge market potential and increasingly strong purchasing power will bring business opportunities to Chinese companies.
The first Thailand International Lighting Exhibition is expected to bring together 250 exhibitors to comprehensively display lighting products such as lamps, efficient lighting equipment, LED raw materials, controllers, replacement lamps, LED related accessories, equipment, renewable energy and solar buildings, intelligent lighting building solutions, etc. It is expected to attract more than 5,000 professional visitors from industrial zones, factories, government agencies, commercial buildings, project purchasers, hotels, apartments, universities, temples and religious sites.
According to reports, with the Thai government's vigorous promotion of energy-saving lighting and the sharp decline in LED lighting prices, the demand for LED lighting is increasing day by day. According to statistics, the total value of Thailand's lighting market reached US$800 million in 2014, an increase of 12% compared with 2013. In the near future, the total value of Thailand's lighting market will grow to US$900 million to US$1 billion, driven by local governments and private enterprises. The annual growth rate is expected to reach 30% in the next five years. Indoor lighting and industrial construction have become two important components of Thailand's LED lighting market.
