Eight major LED companies signed contracts with RMB 600 million to build Chenzhou into the hometown of LED

Recently, at the Chenzhou City LED Product Promotion Conference co-organized by the Chenzhou City Economic and Information Technology Commission and Chenzhou High-tech Zone, eight key LED companies including Hualei Optoelectronics, Philips Lighting, Huazhuo Technology, Huate Optoelectronics, and Changqi New Energy successively promoted their products and carried out on-site business-enterprise cooperation and docking signings, with a contract amount of up to 600 million yuan.

“Our goal is to build the largest LED product production base in Hunan and make Chenzhou the hometown of LED!” Looking at the booming development of the LED industry in the park, Li Xuehui, deputy director of the Chenzhou High-tech Zone Management Committee, said confidently.

Chenzhou is a pilot demonstration city for the "Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Lights" semiconductor lighting application project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2012, the city was the first in the country to launch the "Light up Chenzhou·Green Lighting" action, planning to install 30,000 LED street lights in three years, promote the use of LED green lighting for landscape lighting and community lighting, and encourage the use of LED lighting products for public, commercial and household indoor lighting.

In recent years, Chenzhou High-tech Zone has increased investment efforts for LED companies, helping LED companies settled in the park to obtain relevant industrial policies from the province and city to comprehensively support the development of the LED industry. It has successively introduced dozens of LED companies such as Hualei Optoelectronics, Delta Electronics, Philips Lighting, Changqi New Energy, Jushen Electronics, Huazhuo Optoelectronics, and Walter Optoelectronics, becoming the main battlefield of the Chenzhou LED industry cluster.

In just a few years, Chenzhou's LED industry has "emerged suddenly." Hualei Optoelectronics has 32 MOCVD equipment, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million epitaxial wafers, ranking among the top ten in the country. The company has also recently passed a feasibility study report on patterned sapphire substrate (PSS) technology, which can add 1.8 million wafers of production capacity.

Philips Lighting adopts a "rent first and then build" approach to settle in the park. By renting factory buildings in the park, configuring production equipment and introducing LED high-tech talents, the annual output of LED street lighting products reaches more than 50,000 units.

Changqi New Energy uses independent intellectual property patented technology to upgrade LEDs to integrated light-emitting working methods, and uses red ion superconducting heat dissipation technology to solve technical problems in heat dissipation, greatly reducing production costs and extending product service life.

Huazhuo Optoelectronics, which settled in the park at the end of last year, has invested hundreds of millions of yuan in building an energy-saving lighting product production base and a large-scale automated production system, and focuses on LED and electrodeless lamp lighting application products and lighting solutions. In less than a year, three production lines were built and put into trial production one after another, effectively strengthening the LED industry cluster in the park.
