With the support of AI technology, the four-dimensional ecological LED plant factory solution is exported to the Middle East

Recently, the Middle East project team of Siwei Ecological Technology Company in Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang) is intensively promoting cooperation with Saudi Arabian MOWREQ Company. On May 13, the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing to promote the application of "Made in Hangzhou" AI plant factory comprehensive solutions in the Middle East.

In the digital agricultural industrial park of Siwei Ecology, the reporter saw that LED light strips provided uniform lighting for crops between planting racks, while drones performed intelligent inspection tasks in the air. According to company engineer Li Shuzhan, the plant factory uses a self-developed LED lighting control system that can dynamically adjust the lighting duration and spectrum combination according to the crop growth cycle. The system customizes the lighting "recipe" through AI algorithms to optimize the photosynthesis environment of crops; the supporting inspection system collects growth data of strawberries and other crops in real time, which is used to determine the picking timing and improve product quality and management efficiency.

According to Hua Guichao, chairman of Siwei Ecology, the company provides integrated construction solutions covering the fields of vertical planting, Internet of Things and plant nutrition, and realizes crop planting through AI and automation technology. Delicate management and resource efficiency optimization. For example, when growing lettuce, through intelligent control, the yield per unit area can be increased by 50 to 100 times compared with traditional open-air planting, and irrigation water consumption can be reduced by about 95%.

Siwei Ecology has gradually expanded overseas markets in recent years. In 2024, its self-cultivated strawberries received good market response after entering high-end supermarket chains in the United Arab Emirates. In May this year, representatives of the Saudi MOWREQ company inspected the Hangzhou factory, expressed concern about the intelligent system of the plant factory, and expressed their intention to introduce technology. According to Hua Guichao's analysis, Saudi Arabia faces water shortages and desertification challenges in the process of developing agriculture, and plant factories can achieve intensive production in a relatively closed environment; local abundant and relatively low-price energy resources also help stabilize operations, and the market demand for high-quality agricultural products also provides support. Previously, Siwei Ecology had experience in establishing plant factories in arid areas of western China, providing it with technology accumulation to expand into the Middle East market.

Next, the two parties will use the Saudi project as a starting point to promote business expansion in the Middle East market. The cooperation content will cover the hardware construction and talent training of plant factories, assist the local development of modern agricultural technology systems, and promote the transformation of regional agriculture into an efficient and intelligent direction.
